You already have a stand alone trans cooler, adding another is really not going to anything for temp spikes.

So I pulled this from a post back in 07..... Does that show my age

Trailer Tow Class III Group $495
Trailer Sway Control
Heavy Duty Engine Cooling
Full Size Spare Tire
Matching Spare Wheel
Class III Receiver Hitch
7-Pin Wiring Harness
7-to-4 Pin Wiring Adapter

So you may be asking how does this pertain to you? This is all you are missing from a factory tow package equipped KK:

Trailer Sway Control
Full Size Spare Tire/Matching Spare Wheel
7-Pin Wiring Harness
7-to-4 Pin Wiring Adapter

You may also see the term Heavy Duty Engine Cooling used in conjunction. I have yet to figure this one out. Basically some OEM tow ready KK's have just one electric fan while others have a mechanical fan as well...

As far as the condenser/trans cooler goes, I only have one number for a gas model and one for a diesel model...

Digger I have the following installed

On my KK

Full Size Spare Tire
Matching Spare Wheel UNPAINTED my arctic are black wheels
Class III Receiver Hitch
7-Pin Wiring Harness
7-to-4 Pin Wiring Adapter

I need these items
Trailer Sway Control
Heavy Duty Engine Cooling
Trailer Sway Control
Trans cooler

The guys at the dealer said the oem trans cooler is around 300 retail cost about 240 the hoses are around 100 a piece, they suggested aftermarket as its way less expensive.

Thoughts? We can handle the install it's easy prezy but not sure which route to go. Also will this allow my 5k tow max?

You already have a Trans cooler as stated above.
As posted many times before trailer sway is an electronic sensor/ program. For sway control not related to capacity. You'd be better of with real temp gauges to see what your temps really are.
Trailer brake controller and load equalizing hitch.

Easy prezy

So even though i added the hitch and trailer pack seperate i have a cooler?

What is a good brake controller?

Does anyone have gauges installed? Id add a trans temp and maybe one other gauge...?

OK, so lets go in order:

Trailer Sway Control - It is some kind of program that is hard written on the PCM of the KK. Here is the quote from the owners manual:

Quote:
TSC (Trailer Sway Control) – If Equipped TSC uses sensors in the vehicle to recognize an excessively swaying trailer. TSC activates automatically once the excessively swaying trailer is recognized. When TSC is functioning, the “ESP/TCS Indicator” light will flash, the engine power will be reduced, and you will feel the brake being applied to individual wheels in an attempt to stop the trailer from swaying. NOTE: The TSC is disabled when the ESP system is in the “Partial Off” mode and “Full Off” mode.

Heavy Duty Engine Cooling - Your stock fan will be fine. If you really want, you can add the mechanical fan if you don't have it already:

Trans Cooler - I don't know of any OEM kit that would tie in to the system. Granted I don't have a full OEM aftermarket parts book, but I do have the OEM web site:

http://www.mopar-accessories.com/en-US/ ... oupId=2017

And here is another screen shot showing that there is only one cooler for a gas powered KK. The other number is for a diesel KK:

That programming looks like a gimmic the trailer shouldn't make the etc esp system trip it's more weight on the truck not less. Thanks for the assistance digger.

Do you think I should add a trans temp gauge?

And their is an oem trans cooler on the newer KK ?

Here you go buddy, I started this just for you:

As far as the trailer sway, I think it won't make a difference since the ESC/ESP would trip any way...

All KK's have a OEM transmission cooler from the factory regardless of whether it has the factory tow package or not.

Ok as I re read this I thought I had miss read the title and post #2. Then I got to the end and I hadn't.
Adding is in addition too. So I thought there was a Trans cooler. Then as I read answers I thought there wasn't so would be Installing one! Then I read all KK have one ( which I thought).

Again I'd be more comfortable on the road towing max weight capacity if I had a way to stop it. I'd also consider the size of trailer being towed by a short wheel base vehicle.
Trailer sway can will does cause accidents, that can kill you or others. Over heating an engine or Trans just cooks your vehicle.
If you want to tow large loads then buy a vehicle equipped and capable. Or if you want all the parts for a factory tow package buy a KK with it.

:) I have a v10 3/4 ton for sale:)

Hell I'll even say the Ram and I'm a GM guy lol. You just can't beat the 800 ft/lbs of torque that the cummins puts out in the 2500/3500s with an auto. Besides the new heavy dutys look good lol.
