So this is what my 6 month old ome 927s springs look like. I always spray off the suspension and undercarriage when i wash the rest. Anybody else had this happen so soon. How worried should i be? Mfg defect from ARB? I marred them a little bit when assembling them with compressors but i can't see that being why this is happening. Its hard to see in the pics but there are uniform and parallel fracture lines running all over them.

Gee, they don't look too new. I got a set of rock rails from JCR offroad, put about 3+ coats of primer and 3 coats of tuff coat bed liner (not the thick chunky stuff). 2 weeks later in winter driving, they had rust all over them. Getting them blasted and powder coated next month, I hope. I ended up in the mean time putting some clear coat stuff that turns rust black. That seems to be holding its own.

I was just asking about OME's, but after looking at yours, I might pass. I don't need anything I'm about to plop 1k down for to look like it came from the back of a junk yard. Regardless how many curbs at the mall I jump.

If you use the rock rails at all powder coating will be screpped off in no time

As far as the OME springs rust will never hurt them

Yeah, I have some light rust showing up on my JCR rails too. Waiting on tax return to cover cost of having them cleaned then Line-Xed at a local shop. Was hoping to have had it done over spring break, but you know how things go some times.

We are a dealer for JCR so there worth the purchase, if they need to be coated id do a matte black and have our powder coater do it.

Let me know guys.

Powder coat or bedline rock sliders? If you ever slide over any rocks then it'll scrape off.

Yes, I understand them getting scraped, but I'm talking on the top, near the body of the jeep, where nothing really touches, the rust was just "beeding" through. I used some clear rust stopper spray. The name escapes me at the moment but when I get home, I'll post. It goes on clear, but turns the rust black. That's my quick fix. Was told about 250.00 to get them blasted and coated. Found a shop near me that can do it. I just need to take them off first  . I don't care about the bottom as I know they will get "used" but the rest should be fine. They look nice but the rust just takes away from the "looks".

And no, they don't come painted. JCR was getting too many complaints about "damaged" rails from all the banging around on shipment so they stopped painting them. Cut down on costs but I can't see them costing 500+ bucks if they powdercoated them before leaving the shop.

Huge waste of money to powdercoat or Line X rock rails, even top of them
It will still get scrapped off and worn
Keep them sanded down and a good coat of hammertone paint and you're good to go

JCR rails are born rusty. But who cares, they work.

You guys don't want to see mine, right, Tom? :)

We should paint mine. Preferably silver!!!
