Does anyone know where i can find the M bolts that attach the factory front towhook to the frame. Or does anyone have a way to not use them? Thanks Jeremy 2008 Jeep KK |

If you can, I would try to get the brackets that are used for the tow hooks installed from the factory rather than the M bolts. The have a much bigger contact area with the frame and should make them less likely to break off, as some have. Downside is that they require taking the bumper off to install. |

guess that answers my other question. If I take the bumper off does that black cap come off and is there an opening to the bolt holes. Guess i could remove the bumper cover and drop some Grade 8 bolts down. |

There have been a few reports of people's tow hooks ripping out recently, and I think they were all the M bolt ones (although I could very well be wrong). The grade 8 bolts would work. Maybe you could add a piece of steel in there too, to increase the contact size; that's basically what the factory bracket is. Do you have the clip thing (I don't know what it's actually called) for the single bolt side? |

No Im brainstorming a D-Ring setup. Ive been looking at the "hitch turned sideways" kinda thing a few KJ guys did. I was thinking I could fab a mount or bracket similiar to the original hooks, weld the hitch to that instead of a big fat piece of square steel stock. And I would have more control in getting them centered in the openings without cutting the bumper. |

Anyway that took 2" steel like for a hitch receiver and welded on the tow hook brackets. Not sure how they attached it to the frame, but I thought that was a pretty good idea. |

ive seen that one as well. That looked like he cut the hook off and welded on the square receiver to factory mounts. |
