I'm a new KK owner. June 2 2012. Always been a loyal jeep owner for 20 years. My 1993 xJ is still running great but is a rust bucket.
I would like to read what other KK, or Jeep owners, do to help prevent rusting.
Old tricks of the trades or current products.

Wash it often and pay more attention to the undercarriage.Hot water and soap works best, even in the winter time wash weekly.

Frequent washings are always good, including spraying off the undercarriage. I also took my KJ to Ziebart and got their "sound deadening" package. Its only been a year though, so I don't have too much to report.

You'll be fine. Just wash it, especially during the winter, if you live in a salt state. Factory rustproofing has come a LONG way since the XJ was introduced in 1983.

Thanks for the input. Michigan is full of salt. The rust warranty with the new vehicles is pretty impressive so Ill have faith in the new technology and keep it clean.

I made the stealership throw in Ziebart with the sale. It's been one year, and everything looks great. (I'm in salty upstate new York)

The undercoating wore off of the rear diff mostly, but it has a 10 year guarantee so Ziebart is going to clean it up and re apply to the trouble spots.
