Took the liberty up to Montezuma basin here in colorado outside of Aspen. There were some sketchy parts the last time i did it with a friend in his 82' CJ7 (he did fine) that i was worried about with the liberty. Especially with no skids  ... But she did beautifully and i didnt get stuck, hit any rocks, or sustain any bumper damage. Amazing how truly capable she really is, :JEEPIN:

I haven't spent much time in that part of Colorado. I looks like I need to add it to my destination list.

Yup. There are so many trails just in the valley here in between Glenwood springs and Aspen. Going up to the basin you come to a fork in the road where you can go either to the basin obviously, or to what's called Pearl Pass. obstacles include snow fields that you usually have to dig out, and a rock garden that has a creek running right through it that would be pretty technical even if it was dry!! I wont do it until i get my OME lift and full skids and sliders on the libby.

Wow! So from what I've seen in videos on youtube and pictures here, I really want to go to Colorado one day. It will probably be 15 years or so down the road, and I most likely won't have the KK anymore. But it just looks like an amazing place and well worth the trip.

Yup, i love it here. I grew up in Miami, and then spent a year in hawaii. I will never move back to Miami, so its either here or hawaii for me, or even somewhere new. Just over the city life and love being able to take the jeep on any number of trails in less than 10 minutes from my house. Good times.

You starting on the Crested butte side or the Aspen side? If you start on crested butte, you will be coming down into the technical stuff.

I could never give up my Long Island life. I love water and beaches so being 10min away from the ocean, and then about 30min away from New York City spoiled me. The only down side is there is no legal wheeling in NY besides the beaches. I would love to be able to make extended trips when I'm older though. Going to college and busing tables doesn't pay for much lol.

I was with a a stock '12 wrangler rubicon. and then a couple of CJ-7s came up behind us and it happened to be some of our friends who happened to be doing the same trail without us knowing. so that was pretty sweet. So really just two vehicles in our group.
