Before the winter hits, (IK its only July, but I like to plan ahead lol) I wanted to widen the stance on my KK. So I was thinking about getting a pair of spidertrax for the $200. But they only make 1.25" spacers. I wanted to go a lot more. Closer to 3" offset. I like that wide stance look and I could use the stability. Anyway, I just wanted an "Inexpensive" pair of steel black pair of 3" offset rims. Where should I look Oh and I'm running 245 75 R16 |

I mean this with the best intentions possible but you should start by looking at a new angle grinder because your going to do some serious cutting if you would like a really wide stance. 3" spacers are just unsafe in my opinion. I would never run anything higher than 1.5" and even with that you will notice a substantial difference. Offset is the distance from the centerline you are and is either positive or negative. Backspace is the distance from the back of the rim to the mounting surface. The correct way to get that wide footprint is by changing the offset of the wheel. Now it makes a big difference on the wheel you buy because a 7 inch wide wheel with 3 inches of backspace is different then a 10 inch wheel with 3 inches. Wide in the rear isn't really an issue if your not flexing but in the front you have to worry about rubbing on the pinchweld and the front bumper. My suggestion to you is to check out the wheel and tire section and base your choice on a similar wheel ( doesn't have to be the same style just similar specs) Fyi 3" off backspace will most likely give you issues on a stock ride even with a 7 or 7.5 inch rim Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2 |
