I'm working on a custom suspension for my Jeep and need some measurements from a stock Liberty. I've already taken my suspension apart :furious: so I can't take the measurements on mine.

Here is what I need

- Hight of rear springs at rest with the load of Jeep. The stock springs outside of the truck are 11.5" tall, what is their hight in the perch with the load of the Jeep on them.

- Hight of the front stock shocks at rest with the load of the Jeep. The front shocks fully extended outside the truck are 16.5" tall, what is the hight of the stock shock, with the weight of the Jeep, from the bottom of the shock to the strut plate.

Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

Hold on, I'll find my tape measure and go find out for you. Mine's an '08 with about 50K on it, so my KK might be slightly sagged relative to a '12 model. Actually, if someone with a relatively new Lib could do this too, I'd be really interested in how much difference there is. Back in a few moments...

Approximately 7 inches in the rear and 10 inches in the front.

THANKS!! That helps me a ton! I'd be interested too to see the measurements of a new Liberty.

Did you measure the spring in the rear and shock in the front?

Oh, shoot. No, I measured the springs in both places. Sorry. Let me know if you want me to remeasure the front shock and I'll get that tomorrow morning.

Yes please ... based on the spring measurements the front shock should be about 14.5"

Ok, I measured from the top plate down to the bottom of the clevis clamp, where I'm assuming the bottom of the shock is. I got 12 inches. It's hard to tell where the shock begins and ends because it's inside of the spring. Hope this helps!
