So everyone - again, I'm looking into upgrading my headlights. I've gone through OEM, Silverstars, and PIAA Halogen bulbs. None of which seem to be sufficient for early morning, late night, rocky mountain Canadian Skier driving.

I've thought long and hard about adding the DDM tuning HID kit. Haven't pulled the trigger yet, as I know about the puppy killing....

I've also heard the suggestion of buying replacement bulbs for offroad lights, and using them in the stock lamps. Not sure about that one either...

So with that in mind - I've found this:

http://www.theretrofitsource.com/product_info.php?products_id=141

Anybody know anything about these guys/this product?

That is what I plan on doing eventually. Hopefully that will be this summers project.

Just not too long ago someone retrofitted it to a KK.
You should expect some awesome light output.

I've got the FX-R kit sitting in my garage. They will be retrofitted this weekend.

Oh beautiful Mike08 - I think you know what must be done....

Purposely slow down your (as per the instructions) roughly 6 hour project, to about a 12 hour project - simply in order to get us lots of "how-to" pics!

I don't recommend the DDM HID kits...been thru a few with the KK and always got flickering....I settled on this brand and haven't had any issues...available on Ebay for a decent price too (paid $68 shipped).

I got the 4300K kit and its a nice white (not yellow or blue light)

I just ordered another set of projectors (matchbox) for my fogs. I ran into some difficulties with the oven yet again. Melted a set of housings. Waiting for my new ones to get here.

I'll be posting a DIY tread one all my parts are in. It's about make my old lights look stock.

I had ddm kit headlights and fogs. And they were pretty janky granted thy were 90 bucks for both sets I wasn't expecting the longest life.

Retro fit source is the way to go though!

Best of luck on your lights

I started the retrofit tonight but got late start so I will be finishing it tomorrow ... I'm also adding some other custom touches to the headlights which should really set them off!

Here a picture of my progress so far :5SHOTS:

I see one projector mounted there - aligning it looks like it'll be.... fun.

Can't wait to see the whole write up, keep up the good work.
