Winter's coming. I had previously decided to purchase Hella's HID off road lights at around $900/pair.

Now that I have seen some of the videos of these LED Lightbars that put out 16,000 lu of brightness, I'm leaning towards getting a 20" bar.

Anyone here installed one of these or has any experience with them?

I really like my rigid dually's, I bought another set of spots and plan on getting a pair of floods for the winch mounts. I've looked at a bunch but it seems that all of the higher quality lights are pretty close (led) and the draw on the battery is very low. Lumens per watt is probably the best way to compare light output from the brands along with distance. That's why I chose the duallys, along with the cost of around $200.00 for a pair with the brackets and wire harness. The larger led light bars blow them away though. 4 Wheel Parts had a pair of HID's on display and the beam was actually warm. They were brighter than anything I'd seen but the draw on the battery was kinda high. I don't remember any of the details though, sorry but the specs are online. The data is confusing sometimes, that's no accident. Remember to compare lumens per watt and look at the beam distance and shape. If they don't list the lumens then either ask or leave it alone, there's probably a reason they won't tell you. :2cents:
I hope this helps but if you've been shopping for lights you probably knew that anyway. That was the advice I was given, I just figured I'd pass it along. :D

Nice setup TJKJ, do you have any up top? Not that you'd need them.

What is the maximum length of light bar that can be put on the roof of the kk? I'm too lazy to go out and measure!

Most likely in the 40"-42" range.Just don't cheap out and get a good brand that has thermal heat managment then the LED's will have no issues reaching there 50,000+ hour lifespan which is 25 times longer then the high end(not fleabay or ddm HID bulbs) HID bulbs will last.

I looked at Rigid Duallys, and then I thought about putting just a 20" LED bar infront of the grill. The reason I don't want to go with duallys now is because I have made up my mind to do a projector retrofit. So I will have two Bixenon 5000K lights plus a 20" LED bar.

I sent a PM to Mike08Liberty, he has already done a projector retrofit, hopefully he'll reply back with some tips on how to tackle this project.

This might help you out with the retrofit as well. viewtopic.php?t=66886
