Is there a way to turn off the ding for when the oil needs to be changed. And by turn off I don't mean temporally until the next oil change I mean permanently shut it off

I don't think so. It only does it on start up though. Mine honestly hasn't gone off in a while and it has been about 6500 miles since my last change. I think I'm just gonna change the oil in a week or 2 when I get free time and not worry.

turn the key in the in ignition until right before it starts and pump the gas break 3 times, that should reset it.

I don't have a "gas break" pedal ... Must be an option I didn't get :-)r

To reset the Change Oil chime/light:
1) Key to On/Run (not Start)
2) Fully depress and release gas pedal 3 times in a row
3) Key to Off
Next time you start it, Change Oil will not chime.
Repeat in 3-6000 miles...
