Hello everyone just trying to figure out what winch to go with for my 2011 KK, like what brand to go with? and synthetic cable or steel cable? Any thoughts? |

Do you have a place to mount it? If not I'm working on a temporary method that replaces one of the front tow hooks. Hopefully it'll be done by Monday and I'll post pictures. |

Well actually I hope that after this weekend I will have a place for it, because I hope to be picking up my new front winch bumper. But that sounds like a great idea though I would still like to see some pictures of it. |

I have the 9K version of this on my YJ: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-931800/ And you are in luck - it's on sale! There is also a 12K... (It is actually a re-branded T-MAX...) |

Whatever you decide on, go with synthetic line. Saves weight and is a lot easier to work with and doesn't kink. I would suggest at least a 9K capacity. And, if I were buying one today I would pay more and get one made in the USA. |

I'd definitely get synthetic rope. A hause fairlead will also keep you aproach angle good and imo look 100x better compared to a roller fairlead. I based the winch plate size around all warn winch dimensions, except the M12000. It is a 10 x 4.5 bolt pattern and you have 8.5" of room to the left and right from the center of the bolt holes. |
