Hey folks. Just finally running out of tread on my stock forterra's (biggest piles of crap ever!!!!) Started looking for replacements this past week, and am realizing there are hardly any decent aggressive all-terrain tires in this size (235/60/18). To top it off, any tires in this size seem to be outrageously expensive, likely because they are not a very common size. In fact, I may even consider selling these chrome clad 18" wheels and downsizing to a 17 or 16 tire and wheel package if it gives me more options, and saves a little cash. Does anyone know of a decent all-terrain tire reasonably priced in this size? Or should I just give up and downsize? Appreciate any input. |

I would go to a 16" wheel. It will pay for itself after a couple sets of tires and yes you will have a way better selection. |

I'm in exactly the same boat brother! You have to at least go down to a 17" wheel for there to be ANY decent tire options! |

Im on the hunt myself. I lean toward the tall skinny look. The 18s have a short stiff sidewall for onroad handling. Those same sidewalls are are vulnerable to pinches and rock damage and its worse if you air down. I'm going to change from the plasichrome-clad 235/60R18s to some Michelin LTX AT2s in 215/85R16s on the factory "keystone" 16x7 alloys. The 16" family of tires seems to have the biggest selection of useful offroad sizes. |

Adonis and all others. I have an 08 with the 18's and was on the same boat. Have to go with plus 0 size if you don't have lift. That being said General Grabber AT2' come in 255/55. They will fit no prob. We are at 29" tires stock so if you don't like the generals keep looking for 29. My tire guy said with some lift have a lot more options. As I'm typing this I think the nitto Tera grabbers come in 255/55 also. I am getting those generals. Will have pics later. Nathan |

I had no idea that size was virtually identical to the stock tire. This opens up a lot more options. The General Grabbers do look nice, as well as the Nittos |

Here are a couple little widget things that helps you visualize different tire sizes http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html |

I have the general grabber at2 in 255/60/18, 30" and tough sidewalls. No rubbing with the Mopar 2" lift. Looks great. |
