This isn't just for Tom Mudd, but I'm curious... When you drill that first hole in your Jeep to make it yours, how do you keep the metal around the hole from rusting out? I'll be installing a CB antenna mount soon and will need to drill some holes near the tail light. What is the best way to rust proof what I'm doing (and keep a good ground for the antenna)?

Cheers,
LFH

Some say prime and paint. But I think if it's a screw, threaded hole,it will remove the paint, so I use a rustproof grease (?) I had the stuff for so long I forgot the name and can't find it:(

I use silicone for the smaller stuff, I will screw what ever it is on and then unmount it and put the silicone in the hole(s) and then put it back on, and if using a nut and bold I just use a little silicone and then tighten it down.

Now as for ground you want the ground to be as short as possible, and usually I will find a factory bolt on the car and use a wire brush and sand paper to bare metal to take all the paint off and then just bolt the ground on.

Hope this helps.
