I had a defective brake boot. I bring the vehicle into the dealer to have them look at it they agree that it Is indeed defective due to the fact the boot does not sit over the brake handle. They order the part takes three weeks to get the whole entire center console, because it is attached to the brake boot. I finally get a call telling me that the part is in I bring the vehicle in, and after two hours I am made aware that it is the wrong color stitching on the boot. They then say we will have to order it again and make sure that Mopar knows about it and that is the wrong part. Another week and a half goes by and I finally get the correct boot with the stitching that I need.

I'm bringing the vehicle have the center consul replaced early morning at 7:30 the vehicle is dropped off. I called to check on the status of the vehicle at around 2 o'clock in the afternoon to find out the car is still not done. 5 o'clock I get a call from the dealer telling me that the truck is ready for pick up.

Like any knowledgeable customer would do I check the work to make sure everything is done correctly. I find out no big deal the center console cupholder pads are not in there. I go back inside And find out the pads are in the old box. I get those back from the dealer fine I drive off and 3 to 4 hours later I realize after cleaning out the back of the vehicle there is no ductwork cover on the backside Console.

I can now understand why dealerships get bad reputations. I will call and double check tomorrow to make sure that they did not send back the original console so I can get the ductwork cover for the resection of the vehicle.

That would not make me happy. But the wrong parts was not the dealerships fault. Sometimes when replacing parts people forget to reuse something's,(cup holder) but that opening shouldn't have been missed. I see yours is different from mine I have a outlet, not a vent.
See if they have a web site/ email and send one too.

I think he means the cover, I don't think there are normally vents there. And my 11 doesn't have an outlet. I think it was an older model thing.

That must be a 2012 thing. I'm 99% sure my 2011 doesn't have any openings in it. I'll even check within the hour to see when I leave for class. Anyways I totally don't blame you. I can understand the cup holder things, thats small and easy to miss, but the whole back panel is a completely different story. I'm hoping that when I bring mine in(probably tomorrow) I don't deal with any problems like that.

Had some heated seat elements installed on my 09 KK. Here's the issues found when I picked it up:
1. The cover that goes over where the driver side seat belt connects to the side of the seat is BROKE and won't stay on.
2. Wires were not "dressed". Meaning they were hanging down under the seat where if you tried to pull out your rain pants or anything else you stowed there, you would snag on the wires.
3. The Tow/haul switch was stuck in the DOWN position because the console didn't line up and last but not least
4. The boot that covers the metal arm that holds the female connector for the driver side seat belt was missing.
5. Front part of both seats, hooks that hold the cloth down were not hooked in causing the seat fabric to "bunch" up.

Just goes to show, even after buying 2 cars from this place and never having a issue, all it takes is one trip for that relationship to get ruined. Oh, they took car of the issues over time (they had to order the seat belt cover) but my god, one would think any tech with half a brain would have noticed he/she broke it and that's why it was falling off everytime you opened the door :furious:

I won't mention any names but this (jeep) dealer is in Roseville Michigan. :goink:

I'm beginning to think that its like a production job. They limit the techs pay to the time quote. So they get it done and on to the next. But how does anybody make money when they come back for a redo plus parts?

While we all share Horror stories.. I would like to share a positive note. I recently had a lift installed at a dealership nearby. Well, not that near but near enough. Granted, there is a VERY BIG dealer down the road, not even 5 mins away but I've been at odds with how they pay attention to detail and if any shop mech's are reading this, it's sometimes the "little" things that can ruin your shop just as well.

To cut to the chase, after months of going back and forth, ticking off one of the mod's here and showing my "noob" side of the mechanics of our rigs, I got my lift from Marv at Jeepinbyall. http://jeepinbyal.com/prod-OME_1_50__lift_kit-776.aspx. Took it in and left the KK in the hands of jim riehl's friendly chrysler jeep over in Warren Mich. They seem to be the only dealer in my area I'm aware of that will mod your jeep before driving it off the lot. I was told it would take 4 or 5 hours for the work and offered me a shuttle ride to my house (13 miles away). While talking to the service guy "Tim" who was writing me up, he asked if I needed a car instead of waiting around (no cost). I said sure, so he put me in a new 200. Well, it took the mech pretty much all day to get my Jeep back to road ready :?. Guess the alignment wasn't going too well. But they only charged me the orig hours stated, gave me a free car for the day and even the General Manager, Joe (the owners soon), took a personal interest in the job (he's the one who handles the life department :frankie: ) Drove off and that was that. 500.00 was the cost including the alignment. I was happy. I think they went out of their way to make sure I was satisfied. However, it doesn't end there.

I hit a Canadian goose a few months back and was waiting till after the lift before I got it repaired. I decided to take it to them also. Well, it's in their shop as we speak and though I don't have rental insurance, yep, they gave me another car for the week. They were going to even take care of a couple of "dings" in my hood, thanks to my fertilizer spreader that defied gravity and fell off the wall one evening putting a nice large dent in the hood. They have to paint the hood anyway so they said they would fix it up as part of the write up. So, needless to say, I'm so far very happy with the customer treatment they have extended my way. I also bought my 2011 Town and Country from the same place so I guess they take care of their customers. I'll post a pic or two of the Jeep but once it's all cleaned up and out of the shop, I'll put up some before/after shots of the lift.
:JEEPIN:

The RED KJ is my 19 year old daughters. Her stepmom and I got it for her on her 16th bday. She's off at college and was allowed to keep it there for the first 90 days (insurance issues) so now it's back home for a bit.

That's just no good man! Did you ever get the correct console? The orange/brown stitching in your pic looks like my 70th anniversary KK. That said, mine doesn't have an opening on the back like that one does. Just curious.
