Post subject:  Rock Krawler lift problem

Hey guys,

I got my Rock Krawler Xfactor 3.5" lift and went to install it today. I ran into a huge problem. The RK inside diameter of the new fork was 1/8" smaller than the outside diameter of the bottom of the strut. It was actually slightly more than 1/8" difference. I tried to pry the opening but that was a dead end. Has anyone else had this problem. If so, was was your solution or did they maybe send me the wrong part. I did double check the part number on the box and it was correct for the KK.

I'd get a refund and consider myself luck to have found out what their products are like.

I had the same problem. I wound up putting them in a vise and driving a steel wedge(first ball joint fork, then log splitting wedge) into the gap space from the top and bottom. Finally got them on after 5 hours of struggling with the first on to figure out how to do it. The second side went MUCH faster. A lot of people bash the Rock Crawler lift (an I have to tell you the install SUCKS), but I've beat the tar out of my KK off road and the stand up just fine. hat being said I do plan to replace the pucks in the rear with springs, and I did add Bilstein shocks in the rear when I did the lift. Good Luck!

Thanks for the info. I just got done with the first one, and I did beat the heck out of it to spread it far enough. Hopefully, like you said, the second one will go on a lot easier! Assuming all goes well with the rest of the lift, I will be going to get my new ATX 185 Crawl wheels with Nitto Terra Grapplers 245/70/17's tomorrow.
