Has anyone else removed the overhead center console? You know the whole plastic thing, I have searched the form and no luck. I don't know if it is just snapped into place or are there hidden screws that hold it in.

By the way I have a sky slider so it may be different from KK's with out that option :D

Thanks,

John M.

Thanks I guess you just pull down with some light pressure and hope it won't break :?

Are the clips located at the sides or from front to back if that makes sense?

Thanks,

John M.

I looked again and this is how to do it on the non skyslider:
Image
First you remove the light lens w a flathead screwdriver through the slot on the left hand side.
Image
Then the base of it pretty much slides right out.

Those are led bulbs in case anyone wanted to know.

Wow what a difference between the models w/o the sky slider option!!!
This is what I am working with :D

Image
As you can see the lights are push to turn on so I would assume that there is some hidden clip to remove the lens

I just want to remove so I can see what kind of room is behind the stupid paper clip spot.

Thanks for the pics and help

At one point I noticed that te front part right above rear view mirror will kinda snap out when pulled down. I just popped it back so anything further I couldn't help with.

When u do figure it out plz post a pic of the room up there. Seems like a good spot for some mods

This is just like the KA with a sunroof.
Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
Using your fingertips, grasp the sides of the overhead console and pull straight down evenly to
disengage the three snap clips from the mounting bracket.
Unplug the wire harnesses.
The 3 clips are located, 1 by the paperclip thing, other 2 are centered along the sides.
