So I want to get everyones opinion because I am going to be getting a new exhaust muffler for my Liberty and I wanted to know if I can just cut out the old stock one and just put in the new or do I need all new piping? Also, I want to really hear it so I am in-between going with the Flowmaster 50 series and the Flowmaster 10 series, so my question is has anyone installed one on there Liberty yet? and which would you pick between the two. And no I really don't want the 40 or the 44 to be honest but if anyone has videos so I can hear what you have installed please that would be awesome thanks. Thanks, JeepMonkey190

Just cut out the old muffler and weld in the new one. You dont need all new exhaust if your pipes are still good. Sent from my Home Phone using Tapatalk 2 |

You'll save a ton of money just replacing the muffler, but you can also replace the whole system with a stainless steel one, not costing too much, and install it quickly. Did mine in less than an hour by myself after a detail with no jacking up involved. Sounds like you know a bit about Flowmasters, they're known for having a great throaty sound. I had one on my previous V8 and loved it, but I went with the Gibson on the Liberty. |

Alright I change my mind and now it is between the super 44 and the 50 series flowmasters, no more 10 series. and if anyone has video of any other mufflers I would greatly appreciate it if I could hear them. Thanks, JeepMonkey190 I had flowmasters on my 05' Chevy Silverado V8 and I do miss that sound. |

Will you also be removing the resonator? |

Good choice. The resonator is the ugliest thing I've ever seen. |

Actually, I recommend the Thrush glass pack muffler if you really want that throaty sound. Used to have V6 camaro and after adding one of those it sounded like a V8. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2 |

Diggerfreek wrote: I have a straight pipe video some where I took when I did my clutch to if interested Yea if you have it handy I would like to hear it straight pipe too. and as for with or w/o resonator definitely have to go w/o, it has that really mean sound that Im looking for. And it is a 2.5" pipe right? Also Center In - Offset Out? |

Yes its 2.5" center in offset out. Don't know if you saw it but theres a write up in the tech section on a diy muffler install. viewtopic.php?f=104&t=58062 |
