Do not use .25 inch spacers unless you want big time problems
You lose that many threads and they do crack after some time, seen it happen
IF YOU HAVE TO use 1.25 spidertrax
but after you buy them for 125 bucks may as well buy wheels

I'm not looking to get these, but where did you find 4 Spidertrax spacers for only $125??

If you don't mind smittybilt stuff, 4WP sells the G2 brand for close to half of what spidertrac costs.

I'm starting to wonder if the the drive shaft is hitting the gas tank too. I'll have to jack it up and see tommorrow.

I ended up getting a metal shaving lodged in my cornea. I ended up spenind friday night & Saturday morning in the ER getting it removed.
Lesson learnd, always wear eye pro when working under the Jeep. Lol.

I know a lot of people don't recommend wheel spacers. But I need something to stop the rear tire from rubbing on the cobnrol arm at full drop. I think that's what is causing a lot of the racket im hearing in the back. Im thinkg of pushing the rear wheels out. What arw some problems that wheel spacers cause? I might use one or two .25" spacers. Or should I just go for the big spidertrax spacers? Eventually I'll get offset rims, but I've got to stop this sound.

Short of buying wheels. Becausr my wife wont let me spend anymore large sums of money for awhile, any other suggestions to prevent the contact?

JeepNCrowd, are you running without a rear sway bar, so that you get more suspension travel? If so, how much would you lose by putting it back on? It might limit the droop, preventing the wheel contact with the control arm. Just a thought-- please ignore if this doesn't make sense for your rig.

The sway bar is still on. I could adjust the trac bar, but that would affect thrust angle. The proble is, because of the geometry, when the rear diff drops the whole axle starts to travel towatds the driver side. In my case its trsveling do far that the tire hits the control arm.

As a temp fix till you get it figured out, you can put a limiting strap on it to prevent full drop.

You can get rock krawler time for about fifty bucks each with the backspace you need.

I run my rear axle .25 to .50 inches offset to the driver side because the OEM drive shaft makes contact with the gas tank skid. I totally forgot to tell you this I now have a woody drive shaft but pushing the axle over will help with noise and you shouldn't notice it driving See the scraps Look at the gas tank skid

Digger, I see Tom Woods has several driveshaft options for the Liberty. Which one did you end up going with? I like that it is much narrower than the bloated OEM driveshaft.

Diggerfreak I think I neef one of those driveshafts. I now think it was hitting the gas tank skid. There was a little lip protruding from the skid that lined up with scratch marks on the driveshaft, similar to the ones in your you photo. I took a hacksaw to the little protrusion and leveled it with the rest of the skid. I wad going to test it out at an offroad ranch with a loca l club last Saturday, but I ended up getting a metal shaving lodged in my cornea. I ended up spenind friday night & Saturday morning in the ER getting it removed. Lesson learnd, always wear eye pro when working under the Jeep. Lol. I think I will try off setting the track bar too though. Hopefully, I'll get to test it out on the trails soon.
