Post subject:  JBA bronze vs platinum
Alright so I know I'm gettin the JBA adjust-a-strut 2.5" lift but right now I can only afford the bronze lift with control arms. I can't find a reason to justify spending $3,000 on the platinum lift for only 2.5". I understand you get what you pay for but I haven't heard a single bad thing about any of the JBA lifts.

Is there an actual reason why getting the platinum lift would be better than getting the bronze lift?

Any help would be great. Thanks

Get the silver. It includes the A-arms and will save you a few bucks, over the bronze + A-arms.

I've been reading a bunch of the forums about JBA lifts on KKs. The silver seems to be the way to go, but I'm a little confused about this hockey puck stuff. Are they truly needed for the rear?

I'm fairly new at the lift kit stuff. 2 weeks ago; I helped a buddy lift his JK Wrangler and the Rubicon Kit had spacers for the rear. Just making sure that's the case still.

Hockey pucks can be used as a cheaper alternative for bumpstops in the rear
If your buddy used spacers then that was a cheaper way of lifting. He'll upgrade soon

Thanks Tom. Been looking more and more into the lift. A buddy is helping pay for a lift kit as a early wedding gift for me. Can't wait to get the process started.

At first I was going to get the daystar budget booster lift cause I didn't have the money for a full JBA lift. After doing TONS of reading on this website and reading other reviews every one who gets the budget booster lifts (i.e. day star and spacer lifts) seem to eventually change to the JBA or OME.

The springs that come stock on the Liberty, even though they are trail rated, are not meant for offroad. The springs will get worn out faster since people feel when they put that lift on that they can be more aggressive off road.

My suggestion, do what I'm doin and save up the money for a good lift that has no negative reviews. As I'm taught at my job "do it once, do it right"

I think Jeep's only criteria for slapping a "Trail Rated" badge on a vehicle is whether or not it has a transfer case with a 4LO selection. Has nothing to do with either the springs or any other suspension part. They even slap a Trail Rated badge on their Grand Cherokees.

Thanks man, hope to have it on by the end of February. I'll be sure to post some pics to help you with your decision making.
