Hey all! New Jeep owner and excited to be one! Got it used...only 33,xxx miles....Black on Black....I think it's just the base model....3.7 4x4 Trail rated? I have a couple newb questions I can't figure out.... Towing : I have the tow feature button next to my shifter lever.....but no hitch? Does this mean I have the tow package? I also have this panel where I would think a tow breaking device was located? Uconnect : My stereo is not a NAV unit combo. But it does have the Uconnect buttons but it doesn't work when I press the buttons? I'm guessing I don't have it? What do I need to get to add this? Fog lights : Looks like I have those blank discs for fog lights....difficult to put some in? Or would it just be better to put a brush bar and some fog lights on the front? I will mainly use this to pull my boat and popup camper....not doing any rock climbing..... Thanks ahead of time!

Welcome to Lost Jeeps! Glad you're likin your Libby. I can't answer the first two questions for the third one about the fog lights. Are you looking to upgrade your fog lights? Or you don't have stock fog lights? As for aftermarket lights there's some posts on here about people taking a hood light bar for a JK and modding it a bit so it sits on the front bumper and then you can mount some lights to it. |

Very useful when towing up a hill to keep the transmission from over heating #2 There is a module unit that you can install behind the glove box. I can get you a part number later if needed. Yo may have to have the dealer flash the BCM to recognize the unit #3 Fog lights: It's an easy process. You buy the kit that supplies two new head light housings, install them and the new headlight switch. Then take it to the dealer for a flash update to enable the fog lights. |

Yo may have to have the dealer flash the BCM to recognize the unit You will need to have a dealer program it into the system. Mine did it for free during an oil change. The install is a breeze, just remember to disconnect the Neg (-) battery cable first to prevent the airbags from going off. I've seen it too many times, so better safe then sorry.

thanks everyone!!! Great to know about the Tow button!! Hrm....a module that has to enable the UConnect? Is it pricey? Awesome to know about the Fog lights!! AND thanks for the info on disconnecting the neg on the battery...Note to self....anything electrical...disconnect neg on battery....GOT IT! We are loving the Libby so much that my wife has only let me drive it ONCE so far!! LOL! Good excuse for me to get one later too! Soo many things you can do to a jeep...the dealership is installing a Curt hitch on Saturday....I know...not OEM and it'll hang lower...but I"m good with that...it's manufactured locally and I support local! Then I'm getting this paint/interior protection plan which covers any environmental damage (Salt, rust, bird poopie damage, fading)...which is worth it to me since I live in Wisconsin! Some sort of coating they put on it that has nano particles, yadda yadda yadda....Every vehicle I've ever had has rusted before I sold it! Next will be the tint....then maybe fog lights....then brush bar.....Warn winch....oh my....seems like I need to find me a money tree! |

I purchased my UConnect module used and it was very reasonable. New they are about $300. Here are the install instructions What took the most time was deciding where to put the Mic for best sound. I ended up putting it on my upper console by the sunroof.
