I'm looking at getting ether a westin bull bar our a front mount receiver. I'm moving down to the gulf in Alabama, so I will be able to play a little more than I can here. I like the bb for some brush protection and adding a led bar and weld on some d rings. (Plus the looks of it). But I also like the versatility or the fmr where I can hook up a wench mount or larger lighr bar, ect. I lose the front end protection and looks kind of odd with nothing on it. I don't plan on doing anything too extreme, just getting of the beaten path once and ahwile. Anybody have ether or both and any pros or cons of ether.

Bull bars are pointless in my opinion. I've read a few places on here that they offer no front end protection and I doubt you'd be able to winch yourself out with one. Let alone get pulled out

The front receivers available from curt hang below the plastic bumper fascia which wouldn't be optimal for attaching a receiver mounted winch. Something like this may work better, higher receiver and shackle mounts:

Yeah don't get a bull bar. Atthehelm will make you a front recovery system with or without a front receiver that you will be able to mount an LED light bar to

I remember reading the post on your frs atthehelm. Are you still making those, if I go that route I'd rather get yours, from someone who's knows the kk, rather then any slap on stuff company

After having a bullbar I would have to say to stay as far away from them as possible. Sure it might look "ok" but it really offers nothing in terms of protection or even recovery. You cannot be pulled out on it, it will simply bend and look worse and then it takes away your towhook mounts so those are out.

That's good to hear atthehelm. I'm losing my access to my father-in-laws fab shop due to moving from Illinois to Alabama. Luckily he is finishing my rear end for my nova. I just haven't had the time to move on to jeep projects. I'll have to get ahold of you once I get moved and settled in
