I've searched far and wide on the never-ending Internet looking at a ton of threads about bedlining. The techniques for DIY bedlining are all different and I was curious if anyone has a super solid technique.

I'm looking to do bedline my RRO roof rack for now. Right now, I think the process is: clean the heck out of it, scuff it, prime it, then use bedliner.

I've also read that roll on > spray on, any comments?

Thanks everyone :JEEPIN:

I've had mixed results with duplicolor's truck bed coating with bumpers. The first time i used it worked well. The second time was an abosolute nightmare on the rear bumper. It chipped and rusted through. Its not easy to remove either.

mine has lasted pretty well. 2 years and a couple months later there is only one small flake that has come off. I would say do it proffesionally if you can afford it, just to save on prep time and the frustration of doing it yourself. As long as you prep it REALLY well then you ought to have no problem with it sticking around for a good while!

Thanks guys

I've never used it so I'm pretty set on trying the DIY stuff since I don't know how much of a pain it is. Don't mind spending cash on good paint but don't want to dump money into having it professionally done, guess it's just a weekend project I want to be able to do :juggle:

That's awesome

Seems like a fairly straight forward process, just like anything else it's all in the prep work

You've told me before, but what did you use, I know it was something with a real nice uv protection. Found a pretty good deal on some of those professional like sprayers and thought about going back over and doing the roof/tailgate

I don't mind spending some more money for the good stuff, and, if it's possible, I may use my paint gun (if I can buy paint in a can and it would go through)
