| Post subject: | 2010 Liberty Limited Questions |
Good Morning Everyone! So I have a couple of questions I thought I would ask and see what kind of feedback I can get. I was doing some reading from past questions and whatnot but thought I would just ask the group anyways. I have done quite a bit of research on suspensions the last couple of weeks and I really do like the Rocky Road Outfitters Budget lift as well as the Rockfather. I ordered the Budget lift but I am having 2nd thoughts and am thinking about doing the standard rockfather lift. Both give me thesame height but the Rockfather from what I am told has better handling... Any advice between the Budget Lift and the standard Rockfather lift would be much appreciated. Now, my 2nd question is since I am doing a 2.5-3 lift I would like bigger tires! Right now I have what came on my limited which is the chromes rims. I would like to know what I am looking for. I have heard I can put 31's on and have no issues but I would like to hear it from here as well. Also is there a good website or place you guys know where I can get wheel/tire kits all in one? My biggest question is what kind of sizing am I looking for when I go up to a 31 tire? I just want to make sure I have everything exactly right before I order rims/tires so please any advice would go along way. Also if anyone is selling a set that has 80% tread life at least I would be very interested. |

You're going to see and hear stay away from RRO for a reason while it may give you lift now, on down the road ????????? They advertise OME parts but.......... If you're getting information from them, well its been seen many times they'll tell you the moon is made of cheese to sell a product Go to jeepinbyal , better service, customer support long after you've had the product. As far as tires, even with 245-75-16s you'll lose some power but its manageable As for wheels 16X7 with 4 inches of back spacing . There is no need for an 8 inch wide wheel with any tire you can run on a KK |

Hmmm.... This is the first time I have heard bad feedback from Rocky Road Outfitters. With Tires I know I will lose a bit of power. So you are saying look for 16X7 wheels with 4 inches and I can throw some 31's on? Do you reccomend any websites for ordering wheels/tires? Kevin |

Go to any website that deals with the vehicles that RRO sells products for and you'll find tons of complaints. They make cheap copies of other manufacturers items, use pictures of peoples rides without their consent ( plus don't have RRO products on them ) and other great business practices. They know how to Bulls*** , and talk newbies into thinking they are the best out there and downgrade others. Yes,........... 16 X 7 / 4 inches of backspacing works best If you haven't installed the RRO budget, send it back. Its been proven to wear out the UBJs quickly, rides rough, wears out the front shocks quickly. By the time you pay for it, front and rear shocks, bumpstops, you're with in a few bucks of doing a full spring lift |

Can anyone on here help me put together a kit from jeepinbyal.com or somewhere else? I am rethinking the budget kit that I ordered from Rocky Road Outfitters and would like to know exactly what I need to order while trying if I can to stay below 500. I just need to know exactly what I need to give myself a nice 2 inch and above lift. Kevin |

When I first got my KK , I looked at all the other lifts and almost considered a rockfather lift based on their claims. But after some more research, there was overwhelming good feedback on jeepin by al and not so much for any of the others. I heeded the sage advice of tommudd and got the JBA adjust-a-strut 2.5" kit with upper control arms. It was a classic example of money well spent. Great kit with quality components and superb customer service. I've done a few lifts in my time and this is the nicest one I've gotten yet. http://jeeplibertyliftkits.com/jeep-lib ... ckage.html ![]() before ![]() after ![]() ![]()

I'm sure Tommudd can correct me here if necessary, but... Your basic good quality lift is going to cost you around $750, not $500. Just so you know what to expect up front. Here is what I would have gotten if I hadn't scored one of JBA's 4 inch kits from another LOST member who was selling his KK: OME 1.5 inch lift (but it gives you 2.5 inches actually) http://jeepinbyal.com/jeep-liberty-2008-2012-kk/ome-1-50-lift-kit-kk.html The kit has springs and shocks included. I suggest the medium duty shocks and springs, or the HD ones if you plan to have a bumper and winch. (Without the extra weight the ride will be rougher with the HD's.) You can use your stock A arms with this kit, although later you may want to upgrade to JBA's A arms. You can add bump stops - Teraflex for the front, JBA's for the rear. They are on his site too. That would add about another $50. Call up Jeepin By Al -- they have great customer service and will talk you through what you need. |

You can go the OME way, or try the Iron man way. Both are great lifts. I personally went with OME springs and Bilstein shocks. I chose the 927 front springs(heavy duty) for more lift and am going to use Tom's tricks to get more lift(closer to 3-3.5" or so). I can't tell you how it rides yet.....I really need to find time to instal it As for wheels, Tom took care of that. 245/75-16 is what most people go with for fitment and regearing reasons. |

USLiberty wrote: Your KK looks fantastic man but as much as it is awesome I just can't afford to spend the 2k on that after just buyin the new house.... Back in 05 when I was buying the first lift for my KJ I bought pieces over a two month time span, springs first , then front shocks then rears etc. Took a while but the end results was well worth the wait. That lift lasted 100,000 miles and then we actually installed it on another KJ . It was the OME lift with what was then a great setup with Rancho RSX shocks. There's so much more available today to choose from as far as Ironman/ OME regarding springs, plus they both have their own shocks and then Bilstein makes some great ones as well So my suggestion, take your time, save up and do it right the first time. |

Yea, I decided to go with a more affordable kit for now and save up for a JB kit. I appreciate all the feedback! Should be here next week and will do the install! Now to order some struts and look for my bumper! Kevin |

The wheels I curently have are 18's which is what the limited with all the bells and whistles came with. Personally I am not a huge fan of the chrome clad aluminum wheels so I may downsize my rims so we will see.... Kevin |

But its your $$$ so all I can say is good luck , and at least install front bumpstops from Teraflex It will help save you front shocks somewhat, do not use their redneck engineered bumpstops |

Lol, I did not buy the Budget Lift from RRO but appreciate the concern. I do a lot of forum research as well as reviews which is what made my decision to save for JB's. Im ordering my parts for now seperately and putting together a custom lift until I can afford what I really want. Kevin |
