Looking for some new tires. I would like something a little more aggressive than the Falkens. Options: Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac -> 46 lbs -> $740 Goodyear Wrangler MT/R -> 49 lbs -> $792 Firestone Destination MT -> 50 lbs -> $856 BFGoodrich MT T/A KM2 -> 50 lbs -> $912 The size for all of these is 245/70R17. Leaning toward the Duratracs or the MTRs. Anyone have any suggestions? |

I haven't had any of the tires, but my friend's TJ has 35x12.5x15 MTRs. She loves them, they're just loud. So if you do a lot of driving especially highway, you might want to consider that. I also think I'm going to go with Duratracs for my next tire(need them by August). Everyone praises them. |

Duratracs 58,000 miles on them and still doing great longest I have had any tire on to date. JUST REMEMBER to keep them rotated |

I love my bfg's km2's If you go off road much they have a much stronger side wall than the duratracks. |

Thanks for all the advice guys. Is anyone out there running the MTRs? If so, what do you think about them? |

OK, I have an update on this thread guys. I took another look and I found General Grabber AT2's on tirerack for $150 each at a weight of 43 lbs per tire. Two things: Has anyone had any experience with the Grabbers? These are larger than the 245/70/R17 (30.5"). They are 255/70R17 (31"). Are the 31" tires going to give me issues? I have OME HD springs, 3/8" clevis and will have 1/4" top plates by the time I get new tires. Also, they are only 0.4" wider than the 245's. Let me know, this looks like a great deal! |

Love my MT/R K's,my only complaint is they are not loud tires.I like loud tires. They just work offroad period and do amazing onroad.I am however running Destination MT's right now but only as a daily driver tire and swap back to the MT/R K's when I go offroad. So far it seems the Destination MT's will last forever though as I have 3000 miles on them and the rubber stubs are still on the tread blocks. MT/R K's--Known good offroad, tough sidwalls, must maintain alignment and rotate balance often(at least every 3k) Duratrac's--Good all around performer, known weak sidewalls, must maintain alignment and rotate often Destination MT's--Good mud tire, wear great, can be studded since they have poor ice traction, expensive BFG KM2's--Known weak sidewalls, extremely over priced, poor offroad performance due to trying to copy the Krawlers in a hard tire compound to last |

Doesn't matter about the amount lift as the height of the tire and what it does to the final gear ratio |

Thanks TJ, thanks Tom. Definitely some good advice. I was leaning toward the MT/R's or the Duratracs and I think I'm going to go with the Duratracs. The Grabbers drew my attention because of the size, and I would love to regear, but I don't have the financial ability to save money and can't afford tires and regear. Plus the Grabbers seem too cheap to be a good tire |

I've had the grabbers on two of my trucks and loved them. had them on my avalanche and my lifted exterra with zero issues. the x saw off road 2-3 times a month in the northeast and never had a failure. I got 64k on the ones on the avalanche and 55 on the exterra. I will not run any other tire for combined daily driving and off road use |
