So everyone as I'm sure most are aware at the record heat in the north east. Now I know we don't use Freon anymore but is there anything I can do to make this colder it feels like after almost 2 years it's extremely degraded from what it used to be, thanks.

You are not alone. My AC is not as cold either, almost like it's being mixed with heat... wait, it is! :dizzy: This heatwave is something else, isn't it. My dashboard read 101 degrees in Philly this afternoon.

I hit 102 I think. I know as of 5am it was 84, and 11pm it was at 87. All I know is that it's so hot out, the ac can't keep up with windows down and top open. Hell even with the truck closed up it's still hot :dead:

Sorry guys....Its 105+ here every day for 6 months of summer. The inside of the car is 150-160 till the A/C gets going. One nice thing about KJs and KKs is the A/C rocks in the AZ heat. If your rig cant cool you down, something needs attention.

Unless you have the skyslider . That thing will bake your noodle. I used to put a slab of closed cell foam up under my soft top on my LJ to act as a heat shield.

Arizona heat is different from our heat though. You get the dry heat, we have humidity. Our 80 is basically your 100. Now temps inside the car can be something completely different....that's just death no matter what :dead:

Btw, moving the truck for my dad again this morning....85 as of 4-4:30am

we also get humidity here. July and August are the "monsoon" season and most days certain areas experience near 100% humidity conditions.

I grew up in Chicago and its the same or worse after the rains hit.

I've had my 2009 KK for a little over a month now and when I first bought it I thought the A/C wasn't cold at all.

I went to autozone and bought one of those A/C repair bottles. First turn the A/C on full blast. Then, the bottle has a gauge which you move to the temperature outside. You will want the gauge to stay in the green when u test the pressure. If you overfill your going to have an expensive fix. You connect the bottle to the A/C service section. If the arrow isn't in the green you'll need to add more coolant.

When I tested mine it tested at max pressure, so I knew that wasn't the issue. Wasted $40 bucks to rule that out. Being an 09 with 16k miles I figured it had just been sitting around too much and needed time to get back operating normally. Its been acting fine the last couple weeks.

You are only going to drop 25 to maybe 30* under what the ambient temp is outside. That means that the warmer it is outside, the warmer you will be inside with the AC on. Another factor is that you keep your metal box with glass sealed up tight and it takes longer to cool that space down as well. And yes, we do have humidity plus 110* during the summer.
