Found here:http://www.rcvperformance.com/product-details-axles.aspx?sku=CVJIFS-KK

Is anyone running these? I know they are expensive, but is anyone else making high angle CV's for the Liberty? I read this is the reason we are limited to about 3.5'' of lift.

I know Jeepin by Al makes some cut down ones and sells J.E. Reel ones for the KJ, but I don't think they fit the KK

Cute...High buck Birfields

Not the only reason short arm IFS is limited to 3.5" lift.

Any guru's out there who have a better alternative? I have yet to find one on my own but I could very well be searching for the wrong thing.

If you want as much articulation as you can get JBA can cut down CVs for you.
Or go with ones you found etc

You're not gonna get enough articulation to need em. My JBA lift droops to 24.5" center of wheel to bottom of fender flare. The ball joints and tie rod end are maxed out and the upper control arm touches the spring. They are an unnecessary expense. Save your money on things that you will need to replace.

Oh I don't plan on buying them, I don't think my Libby while ever see that much lift, just wasn't sure if anyone was running them. I hadn't seen the JBA axles before so I wasn't sure of the options out there. You can get 4 sets of replacement CV's for that price.

I would buy a new rig before I SFA'd my Libby.

The trick is...don't waste time and money making your vehicle into something its not. Don't buy a liberty when you will go and lift it six or more inches. You should have bought a unimog.

I'm sorry its probably not what you wanted to hear but a liberty shouldn't be lifted more that 3.5" and no big tires. None of that stuff is necessary anyhow.

Nah it doesn't hurt my feelings either way. I just like to see what people come up with. I enjoy the ingenuity that people bring to the table to solve problems that most people wouldn't bother with. I agree that throwing a 6 inch lift under a liberty is like putting lipstick on a pig but I love reading about people who do it successfully or find ways to break the mold.

Not sure on a KK, but I've driven a 6 inch lifted KJ on 33s and the ride is great on and off road
Done the right way it can be and has been done

But you'd waste the same amount of $$$ on some other vehicle? Modding any vehicle is a complete waste of time and money but we still do it to achieve some goal,be it function or just looks.Take my Liberty,I took the IFS(at the time) to it's max level, doing the SFA conversion just was next to achieve what I wanted.Granted when I bought the Liberty I never had any plans to wheel it on rocks but got hooked when I moved to CO.Since my Liberty was already paid off I actually saved $$$ since I did not have to buy another vehicle. What I did to my Liberty would cost the same on a Wrangler since I wanted a HP44 and RJ60 diffs,Atlas t-case,and 35" tires so that cost would be the same regardless of what vehicle it went onto. Now the lift and mods required to fit all those was roughly the same cost compared to a Wrangler just RL and myself had to custom make the stuff instead of ordering off the internet.

I don't see why it wouldn't work with a KK, may have to do something different with the rear end though. If a tacoma or ram or Chevy can have a succussful cradle drop, why not a liberty. I checked with the company that makes those axles and they're available for a KK too.

While a cradle drop may seem easy it can lead to many issues from the steering shaft now to short(not enough spline engagment),wiring now stretched, and cooling issues if you have HD cooling since you must remove the mechanical fan or cut the whole bottom of the fan shroud off.Not to mention you also must drop the trans/t-case also to maintain driveline angles.

See, it's these type of posts that make my day. getting people together to sit and brainstorm or just talk about our jeeps. I wish I lived closer to the larger groups of KJ and KK owners. Talking to Wrangler owners gets old after a while. Not saying they are bad to talk to. just can't talk about the same things a kj or kk owner could.
