Post subject:  Gate ajar malfunction
Hi-- I am having the same problem with both my 2010 kk and wk so I assume that they share the same part. The gate ajar warning comes on intermittently when the tailgate is closed on both jeeps and the interior lights come on. The rear window won't open and if the jeep is parked the alarm goes off. Eventually it goes away. Any thoughts? I'm hoping there is a tsb to address this. :furious: Thanks!

There was a TSB for this in 07-08 KA and 08 KK & WK.
It involved switching the wires on the latch. However, since your KK is a 2010 it probably does not apply.
Have you tried adjusting the catch or latch? Sometimes they move with open/closing. The sensor for the "ajar" message is internal to the latch. So if an adjustment does not fix it, you will more then likely need a new latch.

Mine did the same thing, the flipper glass leaked and the water got into the latch assy where the switch is. There is a TSB but I don't know if they included the 2010. You'll need some weatherstripping and new latches it that is your problem.
