Looking into buying what the title reads soon, but cannot decide where to put them. Open opinions would be helpful! First pic shows the Dually lights where the tow hooks would go, have seen this one done before. But i dont know if I like the idea of losing the option of tow hooks in the future. The second one shoes them inserted in the bumper. I'd probably get the flush mount ones where I'd take the bumper off, cut the square exactly the same size and mount them behind/inside the bumper. Also sorry, dont know how to properly add pics yet lol http://s1367.photobucket.com/user/nFodzy/media/rigid_lights_TEST1_zpsf16e653f.jpg.html?sort=3&o=2 - http://s1367.photobucket.com/user/nFodzy/media/rigid_lights_TEST2_zps66ac191f.jpg.html?sort=3&o=1 |

I think you're best option is using the flush mount duallys/d2's on the face of the bumper, but remember there isn't any part of the factory plastic that is perfectly flat. With that said, there might be a little bit of a gap on the sides. Maybe some .25"x1" weather strip could solve that. |

I don't think I would mount them in the plastic bumper. The bumper will flex and vibrate causing light flicker that will be super annoying. Especially offroad |

Yeah that might be a problem with spot beams, maybe not so much if using floods. |

Yeah I'm definitely getting the floods. But you're all right..this is going to be harder than I thought. I WOULD love a 20" lightbar so I can just mount it on top of my bumper, but I can't afford that lol. |

So CREE is the brand name of the light bar? Also how do you like your two small dually's that you painted? |

Cree makes the individual lights/parts that make up a light bar for the cheaper brands out there. I bought some to try and was very unimpressed with them. Save your money for name brand lights and you'll be better satisfied with them. There is no comparison side to side |

I build reef aquarium lights, Cree led are individual leds, as Tom said. But alot has to do with the drivers for the leds. If you have a cheap driver on crees they dont put out good lumens (par in reefs) but if you have a good solid driver then you have a good fixture. Its just like having a corvette and a six year old driving it. Or having the corvette and having The Stig on the controls. Notice: my other hobby info.... My reef light has 8 neutral whites, 16 royal blues, 3 uv, 4 "ocean cool white (green red light blue). No optics (120°) Total of 32 watts of cree led power. My buddies 10 inch rigid light had 55w (or close) of leds with "combo beam" optics His rigid light at 8inches the par was 889 My Cree/meanwell reef light had a total par 1121 at the same distance. That proved to me that I could take a cheap led bar, place geade A batch crees and top grade drivers in the hosing and have a bad booty light for my jeep. Will I ever do it? NOPE, I have more $$ in my reef light than a 40" rigid led bar. When I buy a led bar, I will get a hanma or something. I have enough led crap around my house to fix them, including the "cheap" drivers they use. (Upgraded a buds led bar on his JK to use meanwell drivers) that light was bright!!! Sent with the power of children's screams!!! |

Yes I've tested various brands also and the cheaper ones had a noticeable difference. Like a lift kit or anything else you get what you pay for. |
