Just thought I would start a hopefully interesting new thread. Only been pulled over once in January on my 1.5 mile ride to work. He was very polite, but he didn't tell me why I got pulled over. No ticket issued. I would hate to be pulled over for one of my mods to my Jeep, which is why I won't do a full blackout on it. Anyone else care to share a story? |

Not yet. Hopefully I didn't jinx myself. I don't think Texas is very strict on vehicle modification laws. I've never really heard of any laws that have to do with mods at all for that matter. |

Haven't been pulled over in about 7 years. Funny as I had my DL suspended twice for too many tickets in my late teens/early twenties. Guess I slowed down and grew up. |

I think my mods are tasteful, but I have a strong feeling a blacked out vehicle like mine shouts that I'm doing something wrong. |

Blacked out tail lights, wrong color bulbs, tinted windows, just to name a few. Most popular thing I see people get pulled over for near the hot spot near my house is blowing through a particular stop sign. |

Pulled over for 82 in a 55. State trooper let me off(Idk how I managed that...). I think it's because I was honest about getting my girlfriend home, it was around thanksgiving, and the fact I had a drunk driver following me..... Other than that, I don't think my mods really make things stand out for cops. Just driving style (knock on wood). |

I've been pulled over twice. The first was by a state trooper because my tag light was out. I had no idea a tag had a light above it. The second was by a cop in my parents community. Sort of a rent a cop but they can issue tickets. He said a ran a stop light but in reality I floored it from a stop in my 3.8L Impala. It could haul booty for a sedan. Once. Got pulled over for doing 77 in a 70 on I-94 by the Airport Police. No ticket issued, I don't think he even had the right to issue a ticket. |

Can't stand when people have a light out, especially the third brake light! |

Anyone know the Kancamagus highway that zips through the White Mountains in New Hampshire? Well, my girlfriend and I had just seen a really lame movie in the center of town in Lincoln about a mile from our resort. We were ready to call it a night and go to sleep so we headed back to the resort. (I reference the Kancamagus because it is connected to the main street in Lincoln) Drove by a cop traveling the opposite way who as soon as I passed, he does a U-turn in the middle of the street and pulls me over. Off all the times I've been pulled over, this is the first that I admitted that I had absolutely no idea why I was being pulled over. 35 in a 30. He let me off with a warning. I think he saw the out of state plates and assumed the worst. I guess he was really bored or something, or maybe he was expecting me to be hauling serious drugs or something. It was freezing that night. Like 3 degrees lol. |

If you can tell someone is 5mph over the speed limit when going the opposite way, you're doing good. lol I think the cop just wanted to bust balls, or was hoping to get lucky, especially with out of state plates. |

As a cop, I must admit I get pulled over about once a year. The most recent time was when I was racing home to tend to a very sick dog with bloat. Local sheriff deputy pulled me over for going 35 in a 25 at 4am. I didn't tell him I was law enforcement as I like to see how other officers handle themselves.... this guy did poorly. Very condescending and acted as if I saw him and tried to correct my driving in an attempt to escape detection. Pulled me over in my driveway and the wife and dying dog looked on from the front doorway. Deputy gave me a warning but closed with. "Slow down, its a bit ridiculous" I couldn't help myself and replied with a sarcastic "OK, thanks" Oh to be a county deputy instead of a big city cop. To me, killing someone over disrespecting them, any acts against children and doing thousands of dollar in property damage just to make a few bucks is ridiculous. In the end I was able to get the dog to the ER vet in time to save his life but if I had waited just an hour longer he would have been dead. Total cost for an ER operation for a dog with bloat.....$3200 Oddly enough I don't get pulled over in the county I work, must be because my address in the county computer system is the address for the police department.
