Hi all. I'm looking to mount a Class III square tube hitch to my KK - I currently have a 245/75/16 tire mounted underneath (it still easily fits within the aluminum guide rails in the tirewell, but it does protrude abit more noticeably underneath the bumper fascia). Are there any specific brands of hitches that y'all are running that won't interfere with mounting the spare underneath?

Thanks

I have Mopar, but you should be fine with most others. I know a 265/75-16 will fit under there as well.

Didn't know that a 265 would. With the hitch too?

245-75-16s will easy enough but I'd say a 265-75-16 wouldn't if so would be a very very tight fit

I think the 265s need to be aired down a bit. Not too big a deal for most of us with onboard air, or carrying a compressor. I think E2 stuffs his 265s underneath with the Mopar hitch, as does Jeepin_it_reel.

:ROTFL:
OK so you have a flat, stop air your spare up etc to install
glad I don't have to go through that crap
( doesn't matter if you have onboard air or not still a small PITA)

OK so a street tire will fit
different tread patterns will make a big difference, I'm always thinking of more rougher tread type I guess

i have a 245/75R16 M/T under mine with a u-haul hitch with no problem. Looking to add a spare tire carrier though, built onto the hitch soon.

I didn't question that a 265 would fit to start an argument.
But rather to make sure only good info is posted up.
Airing down means it doesn't fit. Only street tires will fit, means it doesn't fit.( photo wouldn't open for me).
So let's stick with 245 fits with a hitch.

Hi all. Thanks for the info - just wanted to verify fitment issues before ordering a hitch (local shop doesn't stock square tube Class III for the KK and wasn't sure either). Thanks again.

I know my 245/75/R16 Duratracs fit fine fully inflated. Another member from SA on here has the Wranlger Kevlar MTRs in the same size and they barely fit. He may have slightly deflated them but I'm not not sure. It is riding under there now just fine though.

My 245/75/16 Treadwright Guard Dog is a very tight fit under there. Fully air, I resorted to cranking the tire winch thingy a little, going under it, smack it a little and repeat until fully seated.
