So, I'm about to haul the jeep behind a moving truck for about 1600 miles, and the moving company is making me disconnect the driveshaft to to tow it. It seems pretty straight forward- 4 bolts up front/4 in back- but has anyone does this? Tricks, problems, solutions? Thanks!

There is a neutral on the 4x4 selector for towing behind vehicles specifically.

it's a tiny little button/screw? I've never messed With it but that might be a solution

if you have the 2wd model you need to disconnect the shaft.

You shouldn't need to. Put your Jeep in neutral and hit the little "N" button by the 4x4 selector to put the transfer case in neutral

As I understood it, and confirmed by those who posted, it doesnt have to be disengaged, but the moving company i am using requires it, 4x4 or not. I am worried that if for some reason something happens while i am towing it and the company tries to say "procedure wasn't followed so we arent paying for damages" I don't have a leg to stand on if I leave it in.

I really just wanted confirmation that removing the bolts is all that is required. thank you,tho to those who have posted!
