Hi KK owners,
Who has installed extended rear brake lines or replaced stock brake hoses on their KK? I'm looking for any advice you can share from your experience. If you have a how-to, this would be ideal.

I have a pair of braided JBA extended rear brake lines to swap in for the shorter oem rubber brake hoses. Not sure what kind of work this is going to entail. Is it simple swap job or did you have to fab anything? (like flaring the ends of the metal lines, or building your own mounts, etc.)

I'm aware I would need to bleed the brakes afterwards, and also I need to make sure the new lines don't rub against the tires (re: JeepNCrowd's unfortunate experience with his brake shop).

Thanks,
Lauren

Keep us posted on what you find/come up with. I don't think too many go with extended brake lines. Might be helpful for the econo lift as well. I'm gonna have to flex it out and see lol

Now that I have longer, better JBA rear sway bar links, my OEM rear brake lines are maxed out at full droop, like when the jeep is up on jack stands. I'm sure it isn't a problem driving on the street, but I want to get this sorted out before I do any wheeling where the rear axle might be fully articulated.

I think so. You brought Brian's kit, and he never even installed them lol. We've even had his KK flexed with a forklift. I don't remember if he had the longer links or not though.

Ha ha, you're right. Brian's lift was from before JBA came out with their extended sway bar links. I got those within the last year. They improved the ride of the rear suspension a lot and increased articulation over the stock links (which were almost maxed out at 4 inches of lift). The extra flex is also a potential hazard if the brake lines are put under tension. If the stock lines are not being stretched at full droop, they are really really close!
