Just bought my first jeep. Used 2010 Liberty with 50k miles. First off I LOVE the vehicle and frankly a little pissed I'm over 30 and just now getting my 1st jeep. Dad life blinder I guess but anyhow... Been reading multiple forums and researching for 3 wks on different mods I want to put on it. It is my everyday driver, but I will be doing the occasional weekend offroading. So I have come up with a pseudo wish list and didn't know if anyone had any input on brands, pros/con's of any mods or ideas to meet my goals without breaking the bank. Wish list: 2-3" lift- less expensive the better, was looking at the Daystar 2"... Thoughts? Black Nerf bars/running boards. Got two kids trying to climb in already at stock height. Lol Roof rack Cross rails for the stock bars on top. Wheel spacers to give a wider look. Currently on stock 225/75/16 Wranglers. - thoughts on brand or size Larger tires...probably stick with stock 16x7 wheels. - I've seen 100's of size discussions, would like a big wide look. Kicked around idea of Bull bar with some fog lights attached, but up in the air. Also debating on painting stock wheels and grill matte black. My KK, being a 2010 I think that's right, is light sandstone 4x4 Sport with the plastic black trimming. Like I said I'm new, I'd appreciate the input/help...hell even criticism... Looking forward to the responses. |

2-3" lift- less expensive the better, was looking at the Daystar 2"... Thoughts? Skip the daystar. It's a spacer lift. It'll kill your ride and whatever is left of the suspension. I recommend a full spring lift. You can piece Old Man Emu springs with Bilstein shocks for a good quality, 2.5" lift. It'll ride and handle better than stock, AND it will last longer. Go with OME 927 front springs and OME 731 rear springs Black Nerf bars/running boards. Got two kids trying to climb in already at stock height. Lol I personally am not a fan. If you do go offroad(depends how hard you wheel here) you most likely do some damage. I prefer rock sliders, either custom made, Rock Lizard, or JCR. They'll hold up if you lay on a rock and I still use mine as steps. Roof rack Cross rails for the stock bars on top. Wheel spacers to give a wider look. Currently on stock 225/75/16 Wranglers. - thoughts on brand or size If you chose to go with spacers go with spidertrax. Most won't recommend them due to stress on the hubs and ball joints. They'll tell you to get different wheels with a different backspacing. Larger tires...probably stick with stock 16x7 wheels. - I've seen 100's of size discussions, would like a big wide look. Prelift or post lift? Stock, 245/70-16 seems to be the largest. Lifted, 245/75-16s or if you want a tad wider 265/70-16s will fit. You won't have to regear at that point, but if you ever did chose to get some mileage and power back 4.10s would be perfect. If you go about 4+" you can get 265/75-16s, but will have to regear preferably to 4.56s. Kicked around idea of Bull bar with some fog lights attached, but up in the air. If that's what you want, do it. I have a brush guard. Just be warned you lose your tow hooks. I have to come up with something this summer to get mine back. Also debating on painting stock wheels and grill matte black. My KK, being a 2010 I think that's right, is light sandstone 4x4 Sport with the plastic black trimming. Someone did something similar here, I forgot who it was. Do a little looking around. Like I said I'm new, I'd appreciate the input/help...hell even criticism... Looking forward to the responses. |

Awesome. Thanks for the input! With the OME spring lift, what's that run and when I do the front do I need the entire strut assembly or just the coil? And I'm assuming the shocks were for rear only? |

A full lift includes all 4 springs and all 4 shocks price 850 or so go to jeepinbyal and look over the various lifts on there wheels 16X7 with 4 inches of backspacing |

Maybe I didn't quite understand. I know the rear is shocks but I thought the front was some coilover strut concoction. Are you saying 4 shocks and 4 springs will do it? |

The rear uses a spring and shock, front uses a coil that is mounted over a shock so in effect a coilover BUT in say the OME kit, it comes with 4 springs and 4 shocks |

Crappy side pic but about all your looking at. I dont do a lot of extreme off road, mud and dirt roads for my ems stuff or beach when I go to the gulf. But I agree with what they said above. For me my stuff works, good family rig that does what I need it to do perfect.

Im noticing the front "shocks" come either in an complete assembly...which, outside of Pro Comp i dont see from any aftermarket companies...or they way you all are recommending it's 2 separate pieces...i guess my question is how difficult is it to get the front coil spring and strut assembled to put on the jeep and are there any additional parts or tools needed to do it? |

Take a gander here and you'll see the options available to you. http://jeepinbyal.com/collections/jeep- ... 08-2012-kk Included in those options is to have the front suspension assembled for you. |

Very very very easy to remove your front setup, 40-45 minutes , run them and the new coils/shocks down to a local shop and have them compress them and have everything ready to go for you. Did I see ProCrap mentioned somewher, stay away along with Rustys/Skyjacker/ RRO etc |
