Hi guys,

I have this problem for few months now, but its the time to fix it.

I lost all my radio controls on the steering wheel, then all the front controls for the in-dash computer.
Finally I lost the horn. The only thing working right now is the cruise control.

From what I found, the problem seems to be the clockspring.

I called 2-3 dealers to test the water to get some prices (to compare with online prices) for the part and everyone seems surprised of a broken clockspring on a 2010 Liberty. I never did an alignment on anything on the column. Also I don't have the airbag light ON in the dash.

I bring the truck to a family's friend mechanic. He scanned it and it doesn't returned any errors.
So do you think it can be something else than a clockspring?

I don't feel like spending 250$+ on it for nothing.

I'm not in luck with the electronic in my KK, I also lost the control of the powered windows.
Fortunately I found the problem quickly, 2 wires broke in the connector in the door hinge...

You can imagine why I'm a bit nervous to buy an expensive clockspring if it can be just an easy repair like this.

I look forward to hearing your advice.

Thanks,

When I broke my clock spring I had the same loss of controls. I'm surprised your went out randomly though. Mine got unwound/ruined when I changed out my Rack and pinion with out tying down my wheel :banghead: . My warranty covered it though.

it looks like the wires just popped out. Cant you just clamp new connectors on and just plug them back into the correct spot?

Thanks guy for the inputs!

I will open the steering this week-end and check the connectors. I was suppose to do my front brakes anyways.

Btw can't believe how much cheaper car parts are in the State. I went camping to Vermont this past week-end and ended buying my front pads. 68$ US for ceramic pads and shims instead of 115$ CND here.
