Mornin'
I'm looking into painting my ATH recovery system with something durable but less expensive as my funds are limited. I would love to get it Line-X'd or raptor lined but just can't. I was looking at purchasing two or three cans of one of these paints to paint it. Now I don't have experience with any of them, so I would like to know any of you have. Thanks!

Home Depot - Rustoleum Undercoating Professional Black - $8.49 a can

Canadiantire - Dominion Sure Seal Rubberized Rockerguard Undercoating - $9.79 a can
(Home Depot also makes a similar product (rubberized) by Rustoleum for $6.99 a can)

I coated mine with primer and then used the spray on bedliner . Its not perfect by any means, but for the price it looks good. Once its installed pretty much the only part that will really get scratched up is the 2 tabs, and I bet no matter what you use they will get scratched up some..

If you're good with a brush check out por-15. It's available in a pint size can for around $30. I'll be shooting my bumpers with it this summer along with the Chassis Black top coat for UV protection.

Problem with undercoating is it never fully dries so it will collect dirt and turn colors(brown'ish looking) that can not be washed off.Great for corrosion protection for the undercarriage but is useless for what you want it to do.

Tjkj's right. The idea behind undercoating is it stays tacky in order to dampen vibration. Bedliner works great, just be warned that may need to touch it up once in a while since its going pelted with rocks at 70 mph.
