Any one out there have any idea what the curb weight of a Liberty is compared to a wrangler. ( Roughly I know that is a lot of stuff added to some and engines vary.) My friend thinks the liberty is a lot heavyer. I looked for it the book but curb weight is not listed. I found where a Wrangler can only pull a 1000 lb and the Liberty 5000 lb so it must be but true. I just wonder how much more?

Liberty curb weight: 3,985-4,780 lb

Per http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeep_Liberty_(KK)

You'll need to be a bit more specific which series Wrangler you're talking about.

My buddy has a JKU that we took to the dump once with a trailer attached. With the trailer empty, it was just about 4500lbs, and we knew the trailer was right around 400lbs.

They're pretty similar I think. The wheelbase hurts Wranglers and I think the JKU is close to us. If it's less it's probably due to softer springs or something.

I'd like to see a stock KK that weighs 4700lbs.More like about 4400lbs max if you have the CRD version with auto trans and 4wd with every single option in the book.

The liberty is a 2012 KK and the Wrangler is a 2004 TJ.

It's the short wheelbase of the TJ. I think it's only around 90" long. KKs sit on 106" wheelbase.

Just looked it up, TJs sit on 94" wheelbase. If you have the long wheelbase mode, the LJ then you have a 103" wheelbase.
