After backing my jeep into my driveway last week, what was a small vertical crack at the bottom of the windshield spread almost all the way to the top. So, time to finally get it replaced, which I can get done thru my insurance for $100. Is there any difference between going to the dealer (prefer not to), vs a national chain, vs a local independent auto glass place? Better to go to a shop, or have them come install it in my driveway? |

A friend of mine had SafeLite replace it in the barracks parking lot. He didn't even have to get new Texas inspection stickers because the tech was able to transfer it rather well. |

Make sure they use a quality replacement windshield. The market is flooded with cheap china made glass that is not safe since the front windshield is a structural part of the roof. I've always had good luck with PPG glass which was the OEM glass that my Liberty came from the factory with. |
