The heated seat switch on my KK shorted out when I hit a big bump and drowned it in Mountain Dew. The seats came on, stayed on all night and drained the battery. After I jumped it, the seats still would not shut off.

I pulled the fuse so I'm good but it's winter and I might like a warm seat soon.

I'm thinking about replacing the switch and maybe even moving it somewhere away from the cup holder.

Has anyone ever had this problem?

Is there any long term solution other than moving the switch?

It's just a rheostat, right? Does anyone make a watertight rheostat?

Thanks in advance!

Matt

Do you have the dealer-installed heated seats with the flat push-buttons on the center console, or the factory heated seats with the push buttons in the bank with the ESC Off, Hill Descent, Hazard lights, etc. on the center dash?

Here is the website for the company that makes aftermarket & dealer installed heated seats for Chrysler & others. You may be able to get a switch from them and save a ton of money over the dealer. http://www.checkcorp.com/seat-heater/seat-heaters.asp

If you have the factory option, the buttons are connected to a circuit board behind the center dash panel, which would have to be replaced. That would be a MOPAR only option, but if you could find the part number you might be able to order it over the Internet.

Pull the switch out and wash it. Just make sure it is good and dry before reinstalling it.
