Post subject:  Clunk in rear axle.

I have the Tommudd lift and I have been hearing a clunk noise in the rear axle since I installed it. I never really thought much of it but now it is starting to get me thinking something might be worn out. Does anybody have any suggestions to what this could be? Also after a recent alignment it has a popping noise in the rear end. I will take it back to the shop to see what they say I just want to know what the clunk could possibly be. Thanks!

Check your shock mounts. You need to install washers on the top/bottom because it's too big. That or check your arm's bushings...specifically your track bar.

I too am getting a clunk but figured it was the sway bar end links being pretty much maxed out. To make it even more fun is the top bolts of the sway links are binding in the frame upon removal and won't turn out. Fun spring maintenance is ahead of me. :banghead:

Just get a really big impact gun and loosen, PB, tighten, loosen, PB, tighten, loosen, PB until it comes out...I spent nearly 1/2 hour getting that sucker out...

I put a custom built track bar on it that is fully adjustable so it is not that. I am thinking it could need washers in the shocks because I don't have any in there right now. I will do this today sometime and hopefully it works out. Thanks!!

My :2cents: I just took my rear sway bar off even with my lift, roof rack, tire carer and all the extra weight with my higher center of gravity it handles better to me.

(And for someone who's going to be "that's so unsafe" I have actually been runnin without any in the front either for a few months but only because I have snapped 2 driver side sway bar to lower a-arm bolts because I have a bad shock that putting too much weight on them and once my new springs come in this month.)
