Transmission Touble - P0841

Post subject:  Transmission Touble - P0841
Hi,

Just had a P0841 error on my '08 Liberty, the dealership said that it is the valve body, part R5078327AA, but it is on national backorder. has anyone else had this issue? Also, judging by the service manual, it looks like you need to drop the pan at minimum, but does the entire trans need to be removed from the vehicle for the repair? and if so should I have the filter replaced at the same time?

You should always replace the transmission filter when opening the transmission. It's a $30 insurance.

P0841 Transmission fluid pressure (TFP) sensor A - range/performance problem
Possible causes; Wiring, poor connection, TFP sensor, ECM/PCM/TCM

A while back there were a rash of 08 KA with bad shift solenoid packs. :roll:
I do not believe you have to remove the trany to replace the valve body (shift solenoid pack)
However, if replaced, it will need to be programed by a dealer before it will work.

Have the same issue here. Just got the price for the repair. I may actually fix it and sell the liberty and get a wrangler since I have 73k miles on it and I already dropped $800 on it for a bunch of issues and now this is costing me 1 grand.

I think KK '08 and '09 have lifetime powertrain warranty. This issue is not covered under this warranty ??

Believe it is under emissions.

Thanks, I did end up getting the filter replaced too, it is under the lifetime powertrain warranty, the part was backordered but it came in today, and apparently it did include the filter (even though I already agreed to pay for the filter). I only have about 48k on it, but since the fluid and filter are now changed I figured it should be good for another 50-100k. I'm not sure how much the labor was if I had to pay but I know the list on the part was 400.
