Hi,

I just replaced my battery and unfortunately the battery shield, part 05033383AA, was damaged in the process, I tried to obtain a replacement but it looks like it was an export only part (even though my jeep was made and used in the USA). is there a real need for this part?

If you're referring the fuzzy stuff around the battery...I haven't had that for more than a year and several 10,000mi...

Funny, I do not see it listed as an export only part.
You can also use 5033383AB this is a KA part #.
The battery and battery tray part#s for the KK and KA are the same, so it should fit.
EDIT:
It will fit. Just did a part# search (5033383AA) and it came up with New Part#: 5033383AB
