Hello Guys, I just recently got a 2010 Jeep Liberty Renegade.I have been reading these posts for a while, and have finally decided to make an account. I just wanted to introduce myself and ask for some suggestions on mods. I am looking to replace the stock sized treads with some larger tires. Thanks in advance. Here are some pictures https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-eR2t ... it all depends on what you can afford. if your in the market for new tires and are possibly interested in a lift, then buy a spacer lift. they are cheep but really are for a temporary lift because there are so many issues. buy the spacers and a set of 30s or 31s along with the spacer lift. if you like the look of your jeep upgrade the suspension. keeping in mind lifting any vehicle is never a once and done job! it wont end until you sell it or completely run out of money. lights are another less expensive mod. off road lights are nice for any application. upgrading the cars audio although the KKs have pretty good sounding audio (my doors rattle with high bass not sure if you would have this issue). detailing the jeep is great. make that paint shimmer! throw out that tail in the rear. I have a 2" antenna on the back. I never use fm radio unless im completely covered by trees in the mountain (all hail Sirius XM). skid plates are a help if you want to take your jeep off road. removing the air shield while still stock gives the jeep a slightly more aggressive and taller look. in my case removing it had no affect on my mileage. I got 12 mpg city when I was stock and I still get 12 mpg city after a lift, larger tires, and a solar panel on the roof. its your jeep. your wallet. look around for ideas out there! not one jeep is the same! except the weenie heads that just buy it to say they have a jeep and do nothing with them. |

Welcome to LOST! Where are you on the island? There's quite a few from LI and tri-state area on here. Anyways, are you looking to lift? If you're staying stock 245/70-16 is about as large as you can go without rubbing. Lifting will let you go bigger, but the largest(without cutting everything away) is 32s on 4" of lift. Stay away from spacer lifts, after getting everything for a spacer lift to be done "right", you'll be close to the price of a full suspension lift that will last longer, handle better, and ride better. I personally run 245/75-16s on 3.5" of lift. I have the 4" lift to install and eventually plan on 265/75-16s(32s). Give us some future hopes/plans and a budget and we can help you out. |

There are a bunch of KK Jeep mod ideas in this thread, along with links for basic maintenance. http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=104&t=80240 For info on the various lift kits out there for the KK, read this. http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=88&t=79401 There are definitely different opinions out there on the best way to lift. Personally, I knew by reading on here that spacer lifts are at best a temporary measure because they take a toll on the stock suspension and ride harshly, so I saved up for a full spring lift, which is definitely more expensive but so much better. As they say, buy once, cry once. There are good full spring kit options out there like Ironman and Old Man Emu that can be had for $850 or so. For tires, don't go above 30.5 inches diameter (245/75/R16's). If you move up to 32's, you'll find you kill your Jeep's power and mileage, and put extra strain on the engine and transmission. The solution for running 32's is a 4 inch lift and regearing your differentials. I know Bmxer524 has that in mind! |

Thank You so much for you reply ! I was looking to buy the 2" daystar spacer kit but after reading some negative reviews on here about them I decided I may need something else. Are there any other lifts within $1000 or so? |

I know Bmxer524 has that in mind! eventually this year or next year ill have a 4 inch lift. im moving out of state this year and am currently saving up for the move. once im all settled in and all ill start looking around for a high lift and more aggressive tires. if $$$$$ wasn't an issue, what I would do for 32's! wish our KK's were body on frame! Like Howard and I had said, spacers are really only good for a temporary use! but why tare apart the jeep two times when you could do it once? my total install including my front shocks was around $600. spend 200 more dollars and get a real lift kit! |

Yes I am looking to lift. Want to stay away from spacer lifts but I also dont want to spend $3000. Really just looking for a more aggressive look while not running into any problems. Could anyone provide me with a link to an air shield delete tutorial or how to. Also I am in the Port Jeff area. Here are few setups I like: http://i397.photobucket.com/albums/pp58 ... oto107.jpg http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_ima ... iginal.jpg http://www.rocky-road.com/media/kk01.jpg http://img.tapatalk.com/d/12/10/22/sy4ezuhe.jpg |

Here are a couple of quality lift options for well under $3,000! http://jeepinbyal.com/liberty-2008-2012-kk/econo-lift-kits-for-the-kk.html $835 OME full spring kit (shocks and springs) - will get you 2.5 inches of lift even though it is marketed as 1.5. $1,400 Tommudd's econo lift - will net you 3.5 inches or so. The JBA adjust a strut kits are the top of the line, but are more expensive. The installations of these can be done for $0 in your driveway, or you could pay to have them installed by a shop ($500-$1,000 depending on where). |

What size tires will fit under the OME 1.5" kit. That looks like it could be the perfect fit. Also if anyone had pictures of a libby with the OME kit and the wheels and tires on it. Thanks so much guys! |

Gageraid is running an OME lift. He has stock size (29 inch) AT tires on it now, but he could run 245/75/16's with it. He's a hypermiler though, and that would cut into his gas mileage! I bet he'd send you pics of his ride if you PM-Ed him. Bmxer524 is also running an OME lift now, paired with 245/75/16 Goodyear Duratracs. He is sitting higher than 2.5 inches though, iirc, because he did a clevis lift and maybe some extra rear isos. Edit: here is a page from JF with a 4 inch lift (mine), a 2.5 inch lift (Gage & chrisdipo) and a stock KK (cobra_4) to compare. http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f292/kk-owners-pictures-949599/index74.html Browse through that thread and you'll see all kinds. |

Yeah, in retrospect I paid way too much for my lift kit install. On the other hand, I had just had wrist surgery the week before and lacked the tools and the driveway to do it myself. All water under the bridge now though! X2 on alignments. It will drive like crap and be unsafe until properly aligned. Be sure to leave enough money in the budget for that! |

Exhaust "may" give you 1 or 2 HP, just more sound CAI? NO, stock box flows better than a CAI PLUS it will bring in actual cold air instead of hot air Throttle body spacers worked on vehicles before , not on the newer ones, does nothing for power or performance |
