Decided I was going to take the long way home from the cabin a few days ago, and play a bit in the mud at a spot I know. Instead, it turned into a pretty epic photo session, due to an incredible sunset. (photos below are in order, taken over approx. 2 hours, until it finally got dark)

It's been a while since I have posted any sort of pics, and I was going to post this as "what I have done to my KK lately", but decided it was more like "how I've spent my evenings for a while". lol

Guess I will need to update my sig & profile??? ...If there is interest, I can also try to upload some close-up shots of specific things, such as the Drake door handles, modified side vents, etc.

Looks good. I definitely want to see the good vents. What do those tires measure out to, 32s?

Ya, the sunset was crazy. It just kept getting more colourful, but darker outside at the same time. Giving her a bath and an oil change this afternoon.

I think the tires end up around 31.6 or something. They are kind of an odd size. After doing the lift, I didn't have enough spare change to get new rims as well.lol
So, I decided to keep the 18" - They have since grown on me, and might just stay. I drive quite a bit for work, and its mostly highway. The A/T's have been great grips for that, but I find they just don't release the mud very well. I think I have the most fun offroad when I'm in the mud, so next grips will be M/T's of some sort.

Thanks Gage. ...Believe it or not, it does OK in the mileage dept. :JEEPIN:
Its a sunny day here. So I'll take a few close-ups while doing the oil change today.

Thanks for sharing the pics.
You have a unique setup.
The white and chrome is a classy combination that works well.

That would be a Rock Lizard bumper.... Good luck getting anything from them, and buyer beware about sending them money before you get a product. I have heard far too many horror stories about them to ever recommend them to anyone.

WhiteRider: As much as I despise RL, that bumper is awesome man!! Did you have to fab up a rad skid? IIRC the RL's did not come with one.
I love the white/chrome color scheme too, which says alot coming from me because chrome is not my cup of tea!

They don't even make it...or any bumper, I think, any more. Normally don't get involved in the whole RL thing, but take Texas's advice and buyer beware. Do some reading on the subject and form your own opinion.

That said, it looks great on WhiteRider's KK. And I'm one of those that weren't very fond of the bumper. Just looked a little rushed. Seems like he definitely did a little customizing to it. It sits better than the one in the pics RL posted too.

Besides the winch being on top, it reminds me of the Aussies' Uneek bumper haha. I would definitely just buy one of those and ditch my homeade one for an Uneek if I didn't have to import it...

I really like RL front bumper. nothing against ATH, because both are or were good designs. im into more of the "industrial" look. ATH bumpers are more sleek and stock looking. RL, although they don't make anything KK related anymore, they are a lot more "ballzy" looking to me.

The gas-door replacement is fantastic... anyone have a clue where that came from? And, can it be had in black?

Looks Mopar to me. You can probably get it from a dealer. I know Wranglers can get it in black, I'd assume the KK can as well. If not, sand it a little, prime and paint it.

I had time deciding between ATH's bumper and this one. But, ...Morgan had just taken an order, and was approx. 2 months from being able to complete one for me. RL said he could do it in 30 days. I knew it was a risky choice, and I'm not gonna lie -it was a nail-biter whether or not I was ever actually going to get the bumper.

The short version of the story, without all the gory details:
I ordered the main bumper, side extensions, PIAA lamps and winch guard (ETA 30 days).
I received the main bumper, side extensions, PIAA lamps - 55 days, RL refunded the winch guard $$ about 2-3 weeks after that.
....didn't even send a decal with the bumper :ALONE:

GOOD NEWS is: I freakin love the bumper, and ended up designing my own winch-guard and then rad-skid. Had the winch guard fabricated to my specs, and then powder coated by an awesome local shop called BAHA NORTH / T.D.C. Custom. And then I bought a metal brake, and made the rad-skid from some 3/8" scrap metal I had kickin around.

It is a Mopar fuel door. I think the part is:#K6859907 ?

I really like to customize everything, and that's what I also really liked about the RL bumper. Seemed a bit more flexible for customization and repairs.

I do miss the turn signals up on the flares though. So much in fact, I've modified both of the original signal lights housing, and when I re-paint the bumper this spring - I'll be adding the custom housings back in that area.
