So here's a story, around town, after having the jeep on for about 15 minutes the CEL came on. after a minute or two the traction control light came on as if I was loosing traction going 60 mph on dry pavement. so I red the code and it was a p21, the app I had is crap and really doesn't work most of the time but I had no service at the time so I pulled over and pulled the battery. that cleared the CEL up till today. except today I was going 73 mph on cruise and the same thing occurred. I slowed down to 45 mph for a while till I had gotten to a rest stop and again pulled the battery because I still had the crappy obd scanner. that has so far cleared the issue.

I drove 3 hours going an average of 68 mph and have had no issue.

what's up?

After I was thinking the spacer lift throwing the traction control light on. When was your last alignment?
Not sure about the CEL without scanning it with a ScanGauge or other scanner.

Alignment was done a few weeks ago when I replaced the outer tie rod.

This is the first time I have gotten any CEL on the rig.

The best advice would be to get it scanned.
Maybe the traction control light was a hiccup and won't happen again.

What were the last two digits of the DTC? Should be something like P21xx. It sounds like it might be a problem with the throttle body. What altitude/weather were you driving in? The manifold pressures with the 4.7 will be different than what the PCM is expecting so there are some conditions which will set a fault that normally wouldn't happen. The trac control uses the throttle body to cut power so that's probably why that light went on.

I've been in Pittsburgh, Virginia, and west Virginia. It only threw the code in Pittsburgh though. Never have had an issue in any other state so far.

And I would assume the correct code would be p2100. I really need to get a proper scanner, and not one of these Bluetooth smartphone scanners. They've showed their bugs!

If you had a 2010 or earlier I'd suggest a Hypertech which serves as a scanner, too.
Pretty sure you can get a scanner for well under $100.
If you want to spend a few bucks more get a Scangauge.

Had a trans light come on today off road. Turned the engine off, 30 seconds, and 2 hours later no issues. I honestly think the mud that is all up in the engine bay and chassis is really messing with my jeep.

What I've been thinking is that some how the mud either is insulating the sensors, or the mud worked it's way into the connectors.

Will be cleaning out the engine bay slightly tomorrow and chassis.

Were you in 4 high or 4 low?
Transmission light came on since you were slipping / over heating the transmission going to slow etc for what you had the transfer case in
Plus always clean all mud out after every trip

Nope. I was in 2 wheel drive on the trail. It was almost bad enough to use 4x4

Definitely clean up everything you can and take it easy. I wouldn't drive it till it was scanned.
When you do drive it, make sure it's shifting properly under normal throttle conditions and be sure that it's getting into overdrive without a problem.
I think you'd know by know if you were stuck in 4x4 or something weird like that.

Should make it a habit to be in 4Low on trails. Less wheel slippage which helps trail preservation. That whole Tread Lightly thing haha.

agree. the trail that I was on didn't really require 4 wheel drive and was really just in 2nd gear the whole time. that's why we all need lockers, and not our crumby LSDs!

I pressure washed the chaises before trailing today, no issues at all. not sure if it was because of me airing down to about 25 psi or if it was because of me driving more slowly...

and id notice the second I step on the gas pedal if I were in 4hi or low.

still after the spark plug swap and new air filter, the KK still is still unable to do a burn out or chirp the tires.

would regearing with my 245s improve any power and fuel efficiency? because since I left PA, mileage has been horrible. no I do not have any numbers for economy, but I do have all of the fill up receipts....... ill be broke. haha

Videoed the o2 sensor data. Ive recently been getting terrible mileage. Like 5 to 15

The o2 data is exactly that at idle and high rpm.

Thinking on pulling the battery, but then id loose my Tb and temp data.
