All the work on the KK is paying off... it started its life with me getting a sparse 14.5mpg.

That is all...

Sounds like a win. Almost a 25% improvement! What work have you done so far?

Do share the info. I average 15mpg in my wife's KK but I have been getting a combined 19.5 in the month I have been driving the 06 KJ. I am somewhat amazed by that. I am getting ready to lift it 2.5" this weekend and will be curious if that alone will affect the milage.

KJs get way better mileage over all than any KK can ever hope for

Let's see if I can remember it all:
- New spark plugs - NGK Iridium
- New air filters - engine and cabin
- Corrected the tire pressure with a little of the old chalk
- Ran an injector cleaner through it - twice
- Regular oil changes (have two into it now) - moved it over to synthetic

Mind you - no lift, just OEM skids, OEM hitch, and no roof rack (yet)

My rubbers are Cooper Discovery AT3's

That tank was about 50/50 highway/town.

That will help. After 80K, the gaps on your stock plugs will be much wider than spec, and not as efficient as they should be. They have a 30K service life in our engines.

I'm mid trip right now but I made it from Meriden CT to Newport center with 1/4 tank left. Topped off before leaving and the second fill on the way back was 17 gallons

We regularly get 17mpg with our '12 KK. I figured it was due to driving like Grandpa :) and keeping tire pressure on the higher end (40psi). Makes for a rough ride and nasty looks from speed demons but avoids any possibility for speeding tickets and lowers our insurance rate (we signed up for one of those Big Brother OBC2 monitors that tracks driving style).
