Most if not all of those its going to be hard to find in the right width and backspacing to fit properly
Plus most are for the go no where crowd anyways ( just to sit and try and look the part)

Don't mean to be negative, but I wouldn't buy any of those either.
Look for some old XJ or ZJ wheels and paint them black. That's probably my plan for rims in the future.

Sorry to see you get so much negativity and people pretending they know why you want what you want or what kind of jeeper you are. Pay no attention, I think they're just jaded.

I like style AND function. The Rockstar IIs are very handsome indeed, but look like they would require too much maintenance, if you like jeepin' all seasons or in the mud. I'm beginning to enjoy off-road jeepin' and can't wait for snow. I wouldn't even mind playin' in the mud, so the wheel that appeals to me the most from your list are the Decoys. Easier to maintain and still have that beefy look - although I'm not a fan of the gloss.

All the alternatives that have been offered are just... meh. Image

:ROTFL:
no lift, stock height, will need to stay with stock size tires, stock sized wheels
but no one looks at those things

He said "hard to find" not impossible. The OP didn't say his Jeep was not lifted - didn't say it was, either. I looked at the rims I liked, checked the sizes available for MY (future) application and found they fit. I based my reply on those facts and the OP's question, what's my favorite in the list he provided.

Tom appears to be very knowledgeable and I listen to respected advice. Style is subjective though. His and other comments about what those 4 styles of rims say about a person's driving habits or how they make a Jeep look are not the kind of advice or fact I place much weight on. I trust Tom's mechanical knowledge, not his aesthetic sense. I've worked in the fields of design and art for most of my life. I won model car contests as a kid. I made a career in interior design, worked some as a graphic artist, have customized my own cars, modded computer cases and am an award-winning photographer. But my opinion on what wheels look the best on a Jeep is just an opinion. It may be backed by more knowledge of style and design than Tom, but should not be construed as more definitive than the mechanical advice Tom and others offer because style and design are subjective.

As far as 26K posts are concerned... I've worked as a forum operator and owner for nearly 20 years. I've seen a lot of people with thousands of posts who don't know spit about what they talk. This doesn't happen to be Tom, of course, but post count is NOT what makes someone an expert.

My comments are always based on what works well for a certain vehicle. Be it wheels/ tires/ or any other modification.
What tires that would be great for someone in Arizona say , may not work well for someone who runs around Washington DC every day. Same with wheels, some are just made to look a part not be as strong etc to take a beating of everyday driving.
Take MOABs for example, they are a forged wheel, very strong and hold up well.
The knockoffs are cast, not nearly as strong . Coming from an automotive background I would never run them although they look good.
My experience covers a wide range of areas over the past 40 plus years while no interior designer etc I do have a sense of what works/ what looks good on all types of vehicles.
So thats where I am coming from
NOW back to the OP if you look at his picture, his signature etc no where does he make it known he is lifted, so thus my comments of not being able to find any aftermarket wheel that would work ( or those listed)

Forum operator, interior designer , blah blah blah . We're talking about what works on a Liberty. Which is where others expertise lies. :SOMBRERO:

My apologies to the OP

Your superior expertise was one of the reasons I joined this and another Jeep forum. But I didn't see any evidence of your psycho or sociological experience being any better than the average human. It certainly doesn't indicate you can judge a person based on what style of wheel they like.

The OP never stated intended usage. It's good to know if a particular wheel is suitable for a driving style. But comments that categorize an individual as part of a "go nowhere crowd" seem rude to me. He asked what our favorites were of the 4 listed. The information about the difference between cast and forged is helpful... now. It would have made this whole conversation different had you mentioned it in your first post.

Your expertise in what works seems highly qualified to me. Whether or not you have a good sense for what looks good is subjective though. It's your opinion. Many may share it, but it's not the end-all, be-all of automotive design. You may even be of the opinion that the style of all those wheels serve only the wannabe crowd. That doesn't make your opinion gospel any more than mine is. The only difference between our design opinions is that I didn't try to insult the guy.

I did look. I chose not to make an assumption based on what I didn't see. I don't have those things either. I chose to use an avatar to represent me, not my Jeep. My signature is blank (as of this post) because I didn't feel an overwhelming need to post what my dreams are for my 2005 KJ Limited. Realistically, by the time I can afford to do a lift, buy better wheels & tires and do many of the other things I would like to do, my lung disease may have progressed to the point that I won't be able to do the kind of 4wheeling you do, which will make me a certified wannabe. I hope that doesn't make me a target for rudeness if I decide to go with wheels that may not be suitable for the kind of driving I may never be able to do.

Just run the cheapest and most basic rim you can find, make sure it's a popular one so when you mess 1 up(and it will happen) you can easily find a exact replacement.Function over how it looks is best.Unless you want to drop some cash and buy forged alloy rims(tuner car ones are still very weak over offroad designed forged rims) stick to cheap rims.

I can almost buy all 5 of my rims for the price of 1 of my tires, and yes they are alloy.

Jim, I know you are still fairly new, but if you look around any Jeep sites at all and see what some are installing on their Jeeps in 22-24 inch sizes and all for just bling. That is where the comment came from. Why buy something that will not perform ? Seen plenty buy super expensive wheels only to hit a curb slightly and ruin them, then come into the shop crying.
Buy something that serves you well, not for looks which is what most of them are.
But spent enough time here, got some things to do
have fun Jeep ON!
To the OP pick wheels you like, but ones that work and fit properly

What happened Mr Forum operator, Interior designer, etc. etc. with your self touted superiority ,you couldn't come up with something better than mudslinging or inferring that I'm not responding in a manner that YOU judge to be appropriate? Sorry didn't know you were in the chain of command.

Perhaps it would have been better to base your comments on what was actually posted/asked by the OP instead of what you thought he meant. There was no mention of rims in the 22-24" range - or any other size. When I looked at those he listed, I checked to see if they came in a size that would fit my JK. Turns out, they are only available in 17 and 18" for my application. My stock rims are 17".

Look, I value your experience and your advice. But no matter where I go, no matter how great the post count, someone is gonna be havin' a bad day and take it out on a n00b by insulting them. I don't know if that's what happened to you. Whatever it was, it was still insulting. The worst part is, a small percentage of your fan club will defend your behavior and may even be influenced by it. They see you insult someone and think it's not only okay, but to be emulated.

Maybe because my own post count here is very low, my objections to rude behavior will be ignored by some and ridiculed by others. That's the nature of forums, unfortunately.
