So here the deal my jeeps set for about 3 months without being started after trying to start ot found the battery to be dead. After a jump found that the check engine light is on amd its displaying low tire on the display. Battery is holding charge now and the check engine light will not reset nor throw a code tryed the manual way of reading codes and got no where. Anyone have any ideas? You can take it to an auto parts store and they will usually read the codes for free. If you want, you could buy an OBDII code reader for yourself. Post the codes here and we can help you diagnose. |

Waiting on the snap on scan tool to be delivered. No parts stores in the area had a scan tool or obd II reader that woulf pull the codes. I found that a bit unusual but decided id rather have the scan tool then pay for the codes be pulled at a garage. Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk |

Disconnect the Neg(-) battery cable for 10 minutes. If the CEL comes back on after you drive it, then read the code. |

Kkdevil...I have a 2012 and had the same issue, plugged the scan tool and displayed issue with the battery. Swapped it for a new one and the CEL went away. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

The system usually has to cycle several times before any code will disappear. Pulling the negative terminal for 10-15 minutes will reset codes (though they will remain stored). If a code pops back up, then your ECU is recognizing an issue. Post the code here. Scar0 has been insanely helpful with this stuff. |
