Stiff Gas Pedal

Hello, everyone. I just recently bought a 2009 Jeep Liberty. I am newbie to the Jeep family and am reading this forum like a Bible!

My question: When I step on the gas, it is extremely stiff. Any suggestions?

Check to make sure there is nothing under it like a floor mat that is getting in the way.

Too funny. OP, can you be more specific in what you're feeling? If you've read around, the OEM setup leaves a lot to be desired with gas pedal feel and response. There are fixes out there, such as the 4.7L throttle body mod, among others. The poor throttle response is likely what you're experiencing and it's tricking you into thinking it's a stiff pedal. I pretty much have to stand on mine to get my Jeep moving. Makes for an interesting experience when I drive anything else. On the bright side, the wife hates driving my Jeep so it's all mine when my lift goes in soon.
