Hello everyone,

Planning on lifting the 2010 KK that I bought about a year ago and want to put a set of 31" Mud terrains on it that I took off of my XJ. Decide that The TomMudd Econo 3.5" Lift kit looked like the best option. However, I want to buy it in pieces instead of all together for (2) reasons:

1: Buy it in pieces makes it seem like I am only spending a few hundred bucks for a lift ..AKA lying to myself :?

2: Instead of the IronMan rear shocks, I want to get the heavy duty 4" Bilstein, which are not an option with the kit.

Before I start buying everything, I want to make sure I am getting everything that I need and not forgetting anything. So here is my list:

(2) Bilstein Heavy duty 4" rear shocks -

(1) Rear Coil Spring Set for JBA 4" lift
http://jeepinbyal.com/liberty-2008-2012-kk/rear-coil-spring-set-kk.html

(1) OME Front coil Springs (Would go with type "2790")

(2) OME Front Sport Strut (#90009)
http://jeepinbyal.com/liberty-2008-2012-kk/ome-front-sport-strut.html

(1) JBA Upper A-Arms set
http://jeepinbyal.com/liberty-2008-2012-kk/jba-upper-a-arms-for-08-12-lifted-jeep-liberty-s.html

(1) Strut Spacer Place Set
http://jeepinbyal.com/liberty-2008-2012-kk/jba-strut-spacer-plate-set.html

(1) Clevis Spacer Set (Thinking of going with the tallest 0.500" Set)
http://jeepinbyal.com/clevis-spacer-for-front-struts.html

(2) Front Bump Stops
http://jeepinbyal.com/liberty-2008-2012-kk/teraflex-bump-stop.html

Does that look ok to everyone? I am still debating on the front shocks. Do most people stick with the stock ones? If I go with an upgrade, what does everyone prefer? Are the Bilstein with reserve tank really worth the price? Thanks for the help!

IRONMAN SHOCKS ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE ANYWAYS, plus any one of them is an option

(1) OME Front coil Springs (Would go with type "2790")
http://jeepinbyal.com/liberty-2008-2012-kk/ome-front-coil-springs.html

GO WITH 927s UNLESS YOU ARE INSTALLING AN AFTERMARKET BUMPER AND WINCH

(2) OME Front Sport Strut (#90009)
http://jeepinbyal.com/liberty-2008-2012-kk/ome-front-sport-strut.html

(1) JBA Upper A-Arms set

NO DO NOT USE THE .500, ONLY USE THE 3/8 INCH OR .375 , .500 WOULD BE TOO MUCH LIFT AND NOT RECOMMENDED

(2) Front Bump Stops
http://jeepinbyal.com/liberty-2008-2012-kk/teraflex-bump-stop.html

Does that look ok to everyone? I am still debating on the front shocks. Do most people stick with the stock ones? DO NOT USE THE STOCK SHOCKS UPGRADE TO EITHER THE BILSTEINS OR THE OMEs
If I go with an upgrade, what does everyone prefer? Are the Bilstein with reserve tank really worth the price? Thanks for the help!

Hope that helps some
So to go over again, with the OME front springs only use the top plate and 3/8 inch clevis or it will be too high, OK?
Also depending on what size tire you are actually going with , better look at upgrading to at least 4.10 gears if not 4.56s

Thanks Tom! Couple questions though.

-You say the IronMan shocks are no longer available? Does this mean that the kit would come with the bilstein shocks, or that the ironman shocks are no longer able to be purchased individually?

-Ok, will only go with 3/8" clevis and the top plate

-I am planning on installing a backbone front bumper system along with a Winch, but that would probably not be until next year. Should I get the 927's and plan on just upgrading them in the future, or would the 790's be manageable for the time being?

-The tires are the old style BFG Mud terrains T/A in 31". But yes, I do plan on switching to 4.10 gearing

Thanks

NO LONGER AVAILABLE IN THE USA PERIOD

-Ok, will only go with 3/8" clevis and the top plate
THE .500 WAS FOR THE IRONMAN FRONT SPRINGS SINCE THEY ONLY GAVE 2.25 INCHES OF LIFT COMPARED TO 2.5 FOR THE OME

WITHOUT ANYTHING UP FRONT THE 790S ARE GOING TO BE REALLY FIRM, EVEN RUNNING A ARB BUMPER AT 90-05 LBS ON MY KJ THEY WERE FIRM SO WITHOUT ANYTHING ????? MAYBE SOMEONE ELSE WILL CHIME IN THAT HAS RAN THEM WITHOUT EXTRAS
-The tires are the old style BFG Mud terrains T/A in 31". But yes, I do plan on switching to 4.10 gearing
4.10S ARE GOOD FOR 30.5-31, IF GOING TO 32S THEN I WOULD JUST GO AHEAD AND DO 4.56s

Thanks

Good luck

Well, I am happy to report that I am now about 1/3rd of the way through with buying my lift kit :pepper:

I just wanted to mention (In the chance that anyone uses my above list to make their order) that the Tom Mudd 3.5" lift kit also comes with the JBA 4" rear KK sway bar links.

http://jeepinbyal.com/jba-4-rear-kk-sway-bar-links.html

I wasn't aware that they came with the kit, and as such I didn't link them above. Luckily Marlin was nice enough to send me a list of all parts included, along with their part numbers when I was asking some questions.

If you're gonna run 4" rear springs, shocks and extended rear sway bar links, then get extended brake lines (either from JBA or build your own from another company, there's a how-to in the tech section). You'll most likely over extend the lines with all the additional lift and travel. Also don't forget bumpstops.
