Post subject:  Jeep KK spacers

I currently have a 2008 KK that has not been lifted yet with 245 tires. I am looking to put some spacers on but I don't know what size I can get without rubbing. Any help?

I see this is your first post. Welcome to LOST! Lots of good info here, and knowledgeable people.

Just to clarify, you are talking about wheel spacers, right? (Not spacer type lifts, which don't work well on KJ's or KK's)

A few people on here run wheel spacers, but you're right that it will lengthen the steering arc and potentially cause rubbing. The ones who do mostly have lifts, which gives them more clearance, come to think of it. You can PM Gageraid about spacers. He's run them for a long time. I think wheel spacers add another level of complexity (a whole other set of lug nuts that you have to make sure aren't working loose), so personally I don't want to put them on my rig. I do think the wide stance looks cool.

You mentioned you are running 245's. Is that 245/75/R16 or 245/70/R16? The latter is the biggest tire you can run while unlifted, and the former requires a lift of at least 2 inches to eliminate rubbing.

Yes I am talking about wheel spacers, and I am currently running 245/70/16 with no lift. I have read that the max wheel spacer size
I can get is either 1.25" or 1.5" and i'm not 100% sure which is correct.

Are you lifted?
If not spacers are going to place the arch the wheel turns in further out and cause more rubbing

No I am not lifted. I just want to know what size spacers I could get that would work without rubbing.

I have 2" spacers on mine with no lift and it doesn't rub at all. I do have a smaller tire though I believe mine are 225/75r16... I could be wrong on that though I always forget...

Max,
While parked, turn your front wheels to varying degrees and check clearance in the wheel wells with a tape measure. Just imagine them sticking out 1.25". Keep in mind that your wheels will be moving up and down while driving too.
